Title: Perfect Laptop
Date: July 15, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Finances, work, movies and pictures, Travel
Review:I have had several laptops over the past few years and this is my favorite. It is lightweight and very portable and does everything I need it to do. I get about 2 and half hours from the 6 cell battery which is pretty good considering I upgraded to the Nivida graphics card. The screen is very crisp and clear. My work has provided me lightweight portable laptops in the past, so I was looking for something portable without losing a built in optical drive. Found it all in the m1330 for a resonable price.

Title: Great laptop but...
Date: July 13, 2009
Review:Given the specifications and the price, this machine lives up to expectations except for one thing: I've had to have the motherboard replaced 3 times in the 22 months I've owned the XPS1330. I bought the laptop as soon as it was released in August 2007. Since then it follows the same cycle every 8 or 9 months: it's a blazing fast laptop with all kinds of extra features, but as it gets past 7 or 8 months the machine starts to act up, then you start getting freezes and bluescreens, and finally the screen blacks out. Call service and the entire motherboard ends up being replaced, the latest this past Friday night. Not sure what I'll do next year when the warranty runs out - the service is outstanding but this is a machine that clearly has some major problems for me as a user and I know that Dell must have lost a fortune on this particular machine -- so nobody is happy here. I have no advice and there is no 'moral to the story' here other than ensuring that you buy the longest possible warranty when you buy these leading ('bleeding') edge machines.

Title: Service was great, a couple nits with the product
Date: July 9, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Gaming, web surfing
Review:Did a great job with preparing the system and beating the delivery estimate!
Would have preferred to be able to get the system without having to have Vista. Having to get a still-not-yet-stable OS without being offered the option of the more-stable previous version is annoying.
Display is a bit more fragile than it should be. Mine took an accidental fall when it was only a couple weeks old and the case cracked near the hinge on one side. Still functional, but have to be very careful opening and closing it now.

Title: I love it!
Date: July 9, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, laboratory work, data analysis
Review:As soon as I started as a temporary grad student at the University of Michigan, I decided my old computer was too old and slow. I have to walk everyday and my back was suffering a lot. So, I received a promotional folder from Dell and decided to take a look at the website. I instantly falled in love with this computer. Its screen has the perfect size and its really light. And also, the tech spechs are great, you cannot find any computer with this specs at this price outside Dell. I am still learning to use all the tools it has. I needed a fast and light computer, and I got it... and its also cute - its a pink one! Im really happy with it, its everything I needed!

Title: #1 in Poorly engineered laptop in the decade
Date: July 7, 2009
Review:I love the features on this laptop. Looks very nice and promising, and is a head turner, but wish i hadn't wasted my money on it. The first and second generation have the same motherboard problem. After about 8 months this system's motherboard fail and overheat. After that the screen went blank. there are hundreds of known cases for this, myself included (multiple times). Under warranty dell will replace the motherboard for free, but the problem WILL NOT BE FIXED. Dell replaces the motherboard with the same flawed motherboard and the problem returned after another 6 months or so. They try to speed up the fan to help keep the motherboard cool, but this will cause the fan to go much sooner. After the warranty expires, Dell will no longer take responsibility for it and will charge $500 to fix it. Just be prepared for that.
The next is the battery charger, another failure. I've had my Inspiron and Vaio for 7 years, the battery chargers are still working fine. M1330 was already broken after 15 months.
And I use this laptop only to check my emails, stocks, and watch videos. No video games. So the system is never abused. I'm pretty upset with this. I asked Dell if I could exchange it for a different laptop, they said no way, only within the first 14 days of purchase. Do more research on it guys.

Title: Overall: Not bad
Date: July 4, 2009
Product Uses: Gaming, listening to music, making music and movies
Review:Originally when I purchased the XPS M1330 I remember reading that the website recommended it to be a good gaming lap top. I really should have maxed everything or gotten a completely different system because the graphics for all of the games that I purchase suggest that I should play them at the lowest settings. I love graphics and having to play a game with bad graphics ruins the experience for me. Either than that, the system runs great. The main reason I got a lap top is so I could have a computer upstairs instead of having to use the giant pc downstairs. If you're just going to use this system to get online, write papers, store photos and music, then I highly recommend this system to everyone! if you want to game with really top notch graphics you better get one of the best XPS systems out there cause this one is not for you. :)

Review:We have used several of Dell's laptop models but this one beats them all. The sleek design, options, and performance are great. It makes for a great carry along laptop.
The only real drawback to this wonderful machine is the lack of a docking station, everything else works flawlessly.

Title: My Dell XPS M1330
Date: July 2, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Finances
Review:I bought this laptop a month back and within no time i liked this product. Thing that striks suddenly is the size and weight of the laptop. The Performance index and all the devices asscocited exceeds the expectation. Really like the Dell packaged everything in.
Though i miss one of the USB port(wished could be three). Also no S-Video support(HDMI is not everywhere in the world).
Also not sure if technical assistance is good in other countries as well.
In all , really like my laptop.

Title: Great laptop!
Date: July 2, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Finances, storing and editing photos
Review:Pros I love the sleek design and size. My old laptop had a 15" screen, and I wanted something just a little bit smaller. That's just what I got with the 13" XPS M1330. I also really enjoy the built-in webcam, which is great for keeping in touch with far away friends.
Cons Nothing I can think of! So far I am loving this computer.

Review:After using this notebook for more than 18 months I have experienced both its goods and bads. As for performance it is one of the best notebooks on the market for the price (I teach and am handed a new notebook regularly). Unfortunately what draws people to the computer is its small size, which has also shown to be its weekness. It overheats constantly and in fact the whole motherboard assembly has been replaced twice so far. Oh yes, don't plan on using this computer on your lap unless you have some burn cream handy. Unfortunate. I've owned nearly 20 dell notebooks in the past 15 years and th most capable is also the most poorly engineered.
By the extended warantee and plan on giving this system up once or twice a year for repair.

Review:Specifications:
Processor T9500 2.60 MHz @ 800 MHz 8 GB of RAM at 667 MHz Ultra Performance 256 GB SSD 128 MB graphic card Thin LCD screen 6 Cell Battery NIS 2008 for 3 years
Pros:
1. Light, no sound of HDD at all, except DVD drive when starting. Fastest laptop I’ve ever worked on.
2. Dazzling 220/220 MB per sec Read/Write Samsung SSD. Moves 5GB of data in seconds. Don’t buy any HDD or Dell mobility drive or even the 128 GB Ultra performance SSD (speed 90/70 MB per sec). Get the Samsung Ultra performance 256 GB SSD only. This is the key to this laptop.
3. Extremely fast processor, all MS office applications pop up the moment clicked on.
4. 8GB of RAM makes any application pop up instantly combined with such extreme processor. Even Norton Internet Security (NIS) pops up instantly when clicked on.
5. HDMI socket and a Wi-Fi detector
6. MM slot that read all type of cards, even a CF (an additional CF / 54 express card required)
7. At least 3 hours of continuous operation with 80% screen brightness settings. (because SSD consumes away much less of power than regular HDD)
Cons:
1. Screen so thin, when closing the lid and carrying the laptop with one palm, it will touch the keyboard and scratches the screen. I have purchased 3 XPS M1330 laptops all had the same problem. I even called Dell to replace one screen, they replaced the keyboard too and thought that might have been the problem, but no luck, still same problem. Fault in design. With my last one, I used 6 bumpers to keep away the screen from the keyboard. It’s better but you have to be careful to carry the laptop from the touchpad end when it is closed rather than the power button end.
2. For months, Dell was selling 6 and 8 GB of RAMs, claiming that they were at a bus speed of 800 MHz, after returning my laptop and sending screenshots of my bios screen which clearly states that I am only getting 667 MHz speed and not 800 MHz, they have finally agreed to fully refund my laptop and in few days later they have removed the 800 MHz option from the RAM ordering option. The Bios does not support the 800 MHz speed.
3. Multimedia buttons are so close together and not distributed along the top of the keyboard area making them crowded and difficult to press the right button.
4. No Blue-Ray capable drive
5. Loud keyboard and DVD drive
6. LEDs are extremely silly. They are all blue and small to see, so you can’t tell which is which and they are even located in a silly place that the user can’t see. Even the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, number locks and Cap Locks are all blue and so small and crowded.
7. 1394a Firewire is revision (a) only.
8. Poor quality of the built in video camera with the thin LCD screen
9. No S-Video socket
10. No scribe capability for the DVD drive.
Other accessories:
If you want to buy an amazing sleeve for this laptop, buy the Incase13” for MacBook. It’s perfect and fits so nice with no waste from the sides.
