Title: M1330 - raw power and excellent customer service
Date: October 21, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, School, engineering software
Review:Pros I received the XPS M1330 as a gift during the holidays. I absolutely adore this computer. I almost received a Macbook, and I'm glad I didn't. Being a college student, I use this little guy everyday. The bigger battery is worth the weight. And, our campus received Windows 7 one month early, and that now is on the system. This thing screams when it comes to speed.
Cons Only two major problems have come up in my ownership of the M1330. The first was a wobbly chassis. On any flat surface, it would wobble. But, Dell took care of me and replaced the chassis for free. My next replacement was the motherboard because my sound card went out. But, yet again, Dell took excellent care of my system.

Review:XPS M1330 is the most efficient and portable laptop I've ever seen. Well, it is my very first laptop though I think I got one of the best one. It is light as you know already and the screen is not that small. I can see very well and have no problem viewing anything on my laptop. Also, the design is very cool. I have the Product RED one, so mine is red color. Besides the color, Dell really cared on the design. It is just so pretty. To be honest, I don't really know about the OS and anything like that. But, as far as the speed of the laptop is concerned, it works so great! I never had any unexpected shutdown or close of a program. Well, also I get to upgrade to Windows 7 on Oct. for free! :)
Hope I could be some help for you! Thanks!

Review:Huge problem with the wireless card. It would work as long as it was next to the wireless router. I upgraded to a "N" as recommended and things didn't change at all. Everyone else in the house could access with either G or N, including an Apple and 2 Dell laptops. As a last resort would be calling Dell and talking which is always painfull in my eyes, we looked to see if the wireless card was separate and it is. But we also discovered that only one of the wires was hooked up, either black or white I'm not sure was just sitting there putting in time. When that was attached, gee I can wander where I want and don't need to be beside the router or in the kitchen (directly above router). Human error rules again.

Review:I have been very pleased with the performance of my new XPS. Although it has been a culture shock switching from XP to Vista, my laptop so far has performed well. I should add that I have not loaded it up like I have my Inspirion. The only applications I currently have on my XPS are Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.

Review:Really like this laptop! Purchased in May '09 and received in less than 2 weeks. My backpack has a padded pocket made for a laptop and this fits nicely in that slot with lots of room to spare. Very light and portable. Wish I had purchased the 9 cell battery. I have to crank up the brightness when running on battery as the screen is moderately dim (Standard display, not LED). I get about 1.5 - 2 hours on battery so use the power cord as much as possible. 4G RAM, wish I had 8 G but too expensive. Video: Have the NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400 GS (128 MB). I ordered this despite what I have read about overheating problems. DELL support assured me that all problems with overheating have been solved and my video card should not burn up and take the motherboard with it. I had a lot of trepidation about this. So many have had to replace motherboards several times due to video cards made with sub-standard materials lending to overheating and ultimate meltdown. Did NVIDIA fix the materials problem or did DELL just crank up the fan cycles with the A15 Bios update? I think it is rolling the dice regarding getting a trouble free video card or one that will heat and melt. So far no problems. Installed HWMonitor free program to check heat and bought a ZALMAN Notebook Cooler ZM-NC 1000. With the Zalman on high the GPU temp stays in the mid 50 C range. The Zalman reduces the overall temps throughout the GPU, HDD and cores by approximately 10 C. I loaded HALO I and Far Cry. HALO I is very fun and really doesn't affect the GPU temp very much. Far Cry pushes the GPU temp up into the high 70s C. There aren't any really recent games this machine will handle since it only has 128 MB RAM. This isn't a real gaming PC anyway but handles the above games pretty well. This machine is great for what I use it for -- writing. I really wanted a machine I could carry around with me everyplace I go to write and connect to the internet. WOW.

Title: Not worth the hassle.
Date: July 29, 2009
Review:I've owned this laptop for less than one year and have problem after problem with it. The LCD and motherboard were replaced 3 months after purchase and have since been replaced 2 additional times... both in the same week. The overnight shipping of parts to the repair guys is nice, but it's really not worth it every few months to not have a functioning laptop for 2 days at a time. Don't waste your time with this machine...bottom line.

Title: m1330 Review
Date: July 23, 2009
Review:Pros
The m1330 is small and light, making it great for travel, but the screen is not so small I have to strain my eyes to look at the text. It is also very fast (2 ghz Core 2 duo, 3 gb RAM).
Cons
It is sort of wobbly, but not that bad.

Review:I purchased this XPS 1330 for my own personal use (gaming), and for college. From what I've seen in the few weeks that I've owned it, I have to say you have a very nice product on your hands. Heres hoping that when the school year starts back up for me, I'll get the hang of everything this laptop is capable of doing.
I'm a PC and I wrote a review =P

Review:I didn't have any problem till now. The quality of monitor is perfect. You can't hear any sound from hard or CPU fan. It is very beautiful in shape and very light in weight. 9-cells battery is something wouldn't finish at least for 4 hours.

Title: great budget computer
Date: July 22, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, work/school
Review:So far computer is working great - fast, pretty light, no major glitches. Although I think construction could be a little better on where the two part of the cover meet (center and edges). Seems like it might start cracking.
Fans doesn't come on much and the computer doesn't heat up. CD drive is loud, but I don't really use it.
Overall, can't beat it for the price!

Title: LOVE IT!
Date: July 22, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Finances, photography, small business
Review:I just got my Dell XPS M1300 and I love it, even though I've had it <24hrs. I knew I wanted a Dell, but my dad reccomended the XPS.( I always follow his reccomendations) I only use it for internet, banking, Microsoft Office, and running a small business. I also do a little bit of photography and I think the XPS is great for whatever you want to use it for. The laptop is a little pricier, but I think it was definitely worth it, especially with the 1 year interest free deal from Dell!!! The screen is nice and large; I have a 17". The sound could be better, but who cares? I'm no "YouTuber" so it doesn't bother me any. Dude, get a Dell!!! Jessica

Review:Pros Nice RED design and finish. Quite fast for it's size and not too heavy even with many built-in components. Excellent fingerprint reader functionality.
Cons 2 USB ports are not enough; most of the time one of them is used for external mouse thus only one additional USB port left... Component upgrades are more expensive (mainly CPU and SSD).
Review I was looking for a small, portable and light laptop but still with good performance for my wife when I first saw the reviews for XPS M1330. We liked the components vs. price and of course the design and weight. I was a bit sceptic about our decision to buy and try it but all my concerns disappeared when I had our new laptop running in my hands. I was amazed; it was small, fast, good looking and relatively light. I was not willing to give the laptop to my wife during the first tree weeks... If you are looking for something light with smaller display (not for continuous gaming) and good performance then go for it. You will love it.
