The mouse was great. On the fly DPI adjustment, comfortable to hold and all.
A year later, the left mouse button randomly clicks, double clicks or registers nothing. Drag&drop has become nigh impossible. The cord protection is frayed.
It was great, but it doesn't last. If you buy it on sale and change it frequently, it may work ok for you, but I'd avoid it.
It was mostly used for desktop applications along with Photoshop/Illustrator and light gaming.
I loved this mouse at first but after two months the left click button started going out! I would not recommend this to anyone! Way to much money for a piece of junk that lasts two months! Greatly disappointed!

I read some bad reviews, but I love this mouse. I just started to use it a month ago, so I hope it keeps working. But so far, nothing bad to say about it.

Left-Click loses functionality
PostedSeptember 26, 2012
No, I do not recommend this product.
While the product looks great and is comfortable in your hand physically, the functionality of the left-click button gets worse and worse over time. This is the second time I have bought an Alienware TactX mouse, and is the SECOND time the left-click loses functionality in a matter of 3-4 months.
The left-click essentially stops responding, so when you are dragging or holding down the mouse button, it would "reset" so that you would have to lift and press down on the button to resume dragging.
My friend who also bought this has said his mouse has stopped working, except he loses all functionality for his mouse.
Unfortunately, because of this major defect, I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable mouse.

Incompatible with Logitech Keyboards

No, I do not recommend this product.
After installing the software, my keyboard Function buttons did not work anymore. The Dell site is so obtuse that I can't find up to date drivers for the mouse to see if that corrects the problem.

High-quality mouse for gaming
PostedAugust 9, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
The Alienware TactX Mouse is one of the top-quality mouses out there. Personally, I like how the mouse is designed as it gives the thumb a small area to put on when using it and it doesn't produce a lot of stress on the thumb. The shape and color of the mouse is perfect for me when I am gaming. The texture of the mouse is superb when it comes to gaming and I have sweaty palms and it does not slide off at all.

Great mouse, short life span

No, I do not recommend this product.
The mouse itself is really good. Feels great in the hand, accurate, and improves gameplay. However, the mouse only lasts about a year before the left click starts to not function. Got a replacement and the second one started giving out in a year again.

Great Mouse, Short Lifespan

No, I do not recommend this product.
This is the 2nd mouse of this model i have. The first one lasted about a month, then the left click died. They shipped me this one very quickly, unfortunately, it only lasted 2 months. Only reason i bought it was to match my keyboard, guess i'm going back to a Razr.
i plugged in the mouse and used it for about 5 minutes. this mouse just isnt for me. im going to return it. its kind of small for my hands and i just really dont like the feel of the mouse. i love the design, but the feel is way to small.

I purchased the mouse to go with my Alienware laptop. I like the feel of the mouse. I wish it had weights like my Logitech mouse does. I also wish it was easier to link the profile for the mouse and the laptop through the Alienware control panel, but overall a good mouse for the price.

Worked great out the box but after about 2-3 months the left click stopped working accurately and now it only clicks 3 out of 5 times. It won't hold down, so dragging items is impossible. For the $price i would expect something to last longer than 3 months!

Scrolling wheel quit working
PostedJune 18, 2012
No, I do not recommend this product.
I received this mouse along with the Alienware desktop that I purchased last December. Now it's June and the scrolling wheel on my TacX mouse has pretty much quit working. I had to scroll the wheel down several times for web pages to scroll downwards at all and the wheel completely quit working when trying to use it to scroll upwards. Plus, on occasion when scrolling the wheel down the page would actually move upwards a little bit.
There's some good things about this mouse. It certainly looks neat and I like how you can use the plus and minus buttons on the mouse to determine how fast you want your cursor to move around the screen. However I'd like for all the mouse buttons and scrolling wheel to work for a lot longer than only 6 months and that was not the case with this mouse.
I absolutely love this mouse! I have both this and a Razor Naga. I honestly prefer the Naga for MMOs (Aion, Tera, etc.), but the TactX is much nicer to the touch, and I prefer it for PC games like AC: Revelations and shooters like Battlefield. I strongly recommend this mouse to anyone know games a lot: a comfortable mouse is everything.
If you have an Alienware laptop this is also a must have for color coordination ^^.

COMFORT & QUALITY!

Yes, I would recommend this product
Ok, so I was a little skeptical about the price tag on it. I was told to buy a Mamba or Razer... I'm glad I DIDN'T! I was a bit bummed out about the production wait. I was very upset it didn't get here sooner. Luckily, it was worth the wait. It feels solid, the coating helps the sweat factor and allows you to move it without slipping from sweaty hands. The two buttons, left and right are highly sensitive. I hate bad quality and poor design, so this really made my day upon inspection. This mouse has a little winglet on the right side that supports your thumb slightly, and additional buttons just over the wing. They feel well installed. They are made of some type of metal, placed comfortably high enough away from your thumb, yet close enough to use quickly.Very neat. I detest flimsy buttons too! I am very picky, believe me. The color customization is also more then just eye candy... They indicate settings. The adjustable options at the bottom are also very sweet! Good to adjust anything you see fit. Thank GOODNESS... DIABLO 3 hours are effortless. You'll be glad you bought it, the pictures don't do it justice. It is worthy of your Alienware laptop, or other gaming laptop/desktop. Look no further, it well polished in design and gorgeous to look at. It made my Alienware doubting friends believers.

Great mouse, love the customization and the ability to change its precision on the fly.
Very smooth, highly functional device and software not only for gamer's but with the added feature of macros this product excels at making complex tasks more efficient with the push of a button.
PROS: alienFX lighting system 5000dpi nice touch CONS: It's a special version (actually a simplified) of g9x. Giving the customer more optional function (like change the weight of the mouse) might make it better.
