Title: Horrible Keyboard
Date: August 25, 2009
Product Uses: internet, games, programming
Review:Very poor product. The design is something akin to a laptop keyboard with very little key throw, and very poor feedback. The spacebar is nearly impossible to consistantly press, as the surrounding plastic is beveled too high.
Bad, bad, design.

Title: Not a keyboard for serious users
Date: August 2, 2009
Product Uses: programming, writing
Review:This keyboard is lightweight. If you're used to a laptop, or like to use a keyboard on your lap, this might be passable. This keyboard is totally useless for programming. There is no separation betwwen keys, for example, the Ctrl, Windows, Alt and space keys. Also, as has been noted by others, they used a nonstandard layout for the Home/End/Insert etc. key block. If you make heavy use of these keys as I do, the change in placement is nothing but frustrating.
As this keyboard is just the default one I got with my new system, I'm going to put it back in the box and save it for when I need something for typing on a small laptop or a rack machine. There's no way I can use this thing for actual work; it would drive me nuts.

Title: Love this keyboard
Date: June 16, 2009
Review:I've had approximately 10 keyboards - this keyboard is absolutly the best ever. I have mild arthritis and when keyboarding for long periods of time my thumbs would hurt for a couple of days. With this keyboard - no pain! But the number one reason I like it is that I can keyboard much faster.

Review:Everyone else that rated this keyboard didn't like the low profile and how it is a little hard to type on this keyboard, however I like these aspects of the keyboard, it also has a lot quieter typing than the other Dell keyboards with higher profile keys.

Title: Hate this keyboard layout.
Date: May 23, 2009
Review:PROS The multimedia keys along the top are convenient. But, that doesn't make up for the cons listed below.
CONS There are 2 major issues with this keybord: 1) The layout of the arrow and navigation keys. 2) The low profile of the keys.
I HATE the layout of the keys on this keyboard. What were the designers thinking! I'm a touch typist and am having a very hard time using it because the navigation keys are not in the correct place. They crammed the keys closer together, presumably to condense the overall size, but then have a 3/4" boarder on each side, making it the same width as the older layout anyway. The arrow keys and navigation keys (Home, End, Insert, Delete, Page up, Page Down) have been moved in such a way that every time I attempt to hit the Delete key, I end up hitting the Enter key instead.
In addition to the layout being wrong, the keys are "low profile". This makes it hard to press the spacebar because the side of my thumb often hits the the bottom edge of the keyboard before the key makes a connection, causing lots of "misfires".
I've been trying to give this keyboard a chance for the last month, but I have to say...
I HATE THIS KEYBOARD!!!
If you're a touch typist, you will most likely hate it too.
I'm online now looking for a replacement, and I ran across the reviews of some other people that hate this keyboard, so I felt I also needed to let other touch typist know to avoid this one.

ProsLooks Nice Small Profile ConsThe keyboard is almost flat Poor separation of keys
Review:Due to the almost flat profile of this key board and the fact that the keys have little separation, I cannot type worth spit with this keyboard. I never thought a keyboard would make such a difference, but this one DOESNT work for me.

Title: This Keyboard Is Horrible!
Date: April 22, 2009
ProsThe black color matches the front of my Dell Studio Desktop. Cons1) The worst problem is that they moved around all the navigation keys (Home, End, Insert, Delete, Page Up, Page Down). What the heck were they thinking?!
2) Also, the location of the Windows buttons makes the Alt keys very hard to use.
3) Finally, the Caps Lock light is nearly invisible.
Review:What were they thinking? I'm a touch typist and I've tried for 3 weeks to get used to this keyboard but I just can't do it. It's horrible. It will take you months you relearn the way you type. You are better off buying a different keyboard, or buying a PS/2 adapter and using your old keyboard.
We have 11 keyboards in our office. They are all essentially the same, except for this one. Everyone in the office finds it impossible to use. I'm on the Dell site trying to find a replacement.

Title: Too much like a laptop keyboard
Date: April 19, 2009
ProsNothing ConsThis is too much like a laptop keyboard. The keys are really flat and there is no definition between keys. I prefer a much 'old fashioned' keyboard. Additionally the keyboard is large. It also doesn't have enough lift on the backside.

ProsThis keyboard is very origanized and it's nicer. The keys are very similar to any other keyboard. ConsThis keyboard doesn't have any cons.
Review:I like how the keyboard matches the monitor and its very sheek. Dell is the best PC company, the computers are modern and up to date.

Title: Upgrade Keyboard for Vostro 220
Date: March 17, 2009
ProsLow profile design, much better looking that the standard keyboard that comes with Vostro 220. ConsYou have to pay for it, should come with Vostro as the standard keyboard.
Review:I was not happy with the cheap looking standard keyboard that came with my Vostro 220, so I have to pay extra to order this upgrade keyboard, thank godness that it did not cost a lot of money.
