Review:I'M A HOME PC'ER , GAMER AND WAS SEARCHING FOR A LARGER MONITOR. I WAS LOOKING FOR A 23IN MONITOR AND GOT A CASE OF STICKER SHOCK . WHEN I FOUND THIS UNIT I WAS VERY PLEASENTLY SURPRIZED W/SIZE AND COST . I REALLY DID ALOT OF HOME WORK BEFORE I SELECTED THIS UNIT . RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX I'VE HAD ZERO PROBLEMS W/ANYTHING . THE COLOR , HD FEATURES WILL MAKE A GREAT BACK UP IF MY TV EVER BREAKS . I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS UNIT FOR ANYBODY THAT HAS A BRAIN AND NOT CLOUDED W/MANAFACTURER ENVY .THE QUALITY OF THIS UNIT IS UNSURPASSED BY SMALLER AND MORE EXPENSIVE MONITORS . I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS UNIT FOR ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO UPGRADE THERE SYSTEM W/MINIMAL COST .

Review:As my title says, it's okay. Not the best or excellent product that Dell has. If you read other reviews, it mentions that the default Brightness and Contrasts are too high... I couldn't agree more...
My brightness and contrast settings are 60 and 57 respectively that gives me the best combination that wouldn't strain my eyes and comes close enough to my Samsung Syncmaster.
I really think the ultra-sharp Dell monitors are way better than this, but also costs WAY more... I have the ultra-sharps (2) at work and I find the difference. However, I bought this one for $184 + tax (which I think is ridiculous since other vendors such as NewEgg don't charge tax) and for that price I'm happy for what I have.
One bad feature of this monitor is that the control buttons are on the lower right edge of the monitor. I would have loved it to be on the bottom part and not on the side.

Review:This an excellent monitor. Plays DVD movies just like the theater. The color was off straight out of the box, but just set it to multimedia and it works great from there. Color looks just fine after that adjustment.

Review:My setup is Lenovo T500 with docking station, using DVI connection.
I have had many years experience of Dell high-res external monitors at work (and always very satisfied). Recently, my work responsibilities have changed, such that I'm working from home most of the time. So, when I reviewed Consumer Reports ratings, and decided on the Dell (the Apple was rated higher, but cost 5x), I ordered this monitor based on ratings from others, and the fact that Dell had a $100 discount going that week.
I have had the monitor now for four weeks, and am very satified. Extending my laptop desktop I have LOTS of real estate for multiple windows open with top level visibility. Updating Word docs side-by-side is wonderful (see pic). Working on Excel spreadsheets can get you a wwiiiiiiiiiiidde view. The display is bright and at 1920x1080 very clear, even for 50 year old eyes.
My wife saw the monitor, and hinted about her current monitor situation (small 17"). So, I ordered a 2409W for her, and finished the install yesterday. She's happy to say he least.
In summary, no hesitation on recommending this monitor to others. I consider it excellent value for the money.

Review:Very pleased with the product. Nice packaging, simple instructions, plug and play worked flawlessly.
Dell has a number of monitors in this size range and while I am very satisfied with the product you have to be a monitor expert to determine the relative merits of each monitor. For example the big difference between this and the ST2410 is the contrast ratio- static versus dynamic and absolute level. Who knows which is better and given the identical look and miniscule price differential (at least when I bought it) it's a guessing game for everyone but experts.

I read a few very positive reviews and decided to purchase one of these about 8 months ago. I really liked it so much that recently I decided to get a second one to expand my desktop. I'm a DJ that mixes video & music tracks and having a set of these great monitors has made the editing process much easier than doubling up on a single one. I have since upgraded my video card to one that has dual HDMI out and all I can say is that watching movies on this screen are phenominal for the amount invested. I will probably buy another one to replace my home security system monitor.
Cons
Not really anything to take any stars away, but it would be nice to have a few usb ports on it. A backlit ring around the border of the screen would be nice as well.

Review:Under $200 with tax and shipping for a 24" full HD monitor is outstanding. I already owned a Dell 20" w/webcam and soundbar that I bought a couple of years ago. Loved it. I paid a whole lot less for this. Does not have a webcam or USB ports on the side like the 20", but I was only interested in the size, 1080P,HDMI, and a great picture. I got all that and love it. Did I mention that I bought this for a new fully loaded ZinoHD w/Windows 7 64 and the combination is NICE!

Review:Purchased this monitor for my son's mac book pro, and 2nd monitor for my tv. It is a great value and looks very good. Out of the box the picture was not so good, but after a quick calibration using his macbook, the display looked great. I highly recommend using some kind of calibration tool to set up this monitor to see full potential.
