ProsIt got here in 4 days! That is the fastest shipping I have ever heard of Dell. This Monitor has an awesome resolution, and has a sleek design. It is my first external display, I use laptops. If you need a decent sized display for graphics and Video editing and you don't want to spend a fortune on monitors this is your monitor, it stands nicely next to my 17" display from my laptop.
ConsI didn't really like the fact that I was paying for the monitor the web cam, and the stereo microphones, I probably will never use them. The foot of the stand looks a little bigger that necessary. But over all it works great.
Review:Dell might want start putting HDMI inputs into there Monitors, seeing most laptops now come with HDMI out and not DVI. Other that that this is a sweet monitor

ProsExcellent picture with DVI - I haven't tried it with VGA, but I'm sure that it is good, too. Bright, vibrant picture. I love having the USB ports on the monitor. The webcam is good, though I really have little use for it. Very sharp looking monitor.
ConsYou might want to consider getting the 22 inch version of this because small text when it is configured in 1680x1050 is at times nearly too small to read (and I have good eyes). Other than that, I love the monitor!

ConsThe Webcam feature, which is the primary reason to buy this, does not work with Skpye, or Yahho or MSN.
Review:There is a work around to the webcam problem. This has been approved by Dell as fix. This is what you are in for, this is my situation. Search the Dell forum's and check it out for yourself.
I work away in Japan on business, I want to be able to connect to my pc at home, and see my kids. That was the plan. What I am told by Dell to do:
1. Dial my wife on Skype.
2. Tell her to "do the thing"
"the thing" will involve
a) hanging up with me
b) exiting skype
c) relaunching skpe (without bringing it up)
d) switching off the monitor
e) switching it back on
f) open skype
g) skype me back
I have not managed to get this to work yet at all.
Dell and I and some other purchasers are tryting to get this fixed (6 months now). Check the forums for when this is fixed.

ProsGood design. Bright display with vibrant colors. Great to have the extra display area a wide screen provides.
ConsIntegrated webcam does not work with Yahoo messenger. A resolution of 320x240 is required by Yahoo messenger and when the webcam is set to 320x240 picture size there is no image output, which results in a black screen.
Review:There is a display color change depending if you are looking at the top(colors are darker) of the screen or looking at the bottom(colors are lighter).

ConsAs far as I know there is a big problem that is not resolved yet. After some time you will not be able to use this with "skype". You will see only a black screen, and the camera starts to blur and fuzzy.

ProsPicture quality is very nice even in bright sunny room. It is part of my Ham Radio Communication station. It does not emit radio interference of any kind. An absolute MUST requirement for a monitor used as part of a radio communications station. VERY CLEAN!

Review:This is a very attractive monitor but whether you will be happy with it or not will be TOTALLY DEPENDENT UPON ITS USE AND WHERE IT WILL BE PLACED.
Unlike the previous Dell LCD monitors, this monitor has a highly reflective screen and the user should seriously take this into consideration, in addition to where the monitor will be located in relation to any windows and room lighting.
If the only uses for the SP2008WFP are typical business applications – word processing, spreadsheets, etc – the reflective screen will not be as much of an issue as most documents and spreadsheets are comprised of black printing on a white background. However, once the screen is darkened, whether that be by displaying of photographs, images or games, the screen will reflect any and all images behind or to the sides of the user. As an added bonus, if the user is tall and the screen is tilted upward for convenience of viewing, it will pick up the reflections of any lighting overhead.
However, the ability of this monitor to accurately display colours is its biggest disappointment and its biggest failure. If the only use of this monitor is that related to typical business applications, color accuracy will not be an issue. However, if digital photography and editing photographs will be one of the primary reasons for purchasing this wide screen monitor or even simply displaying photos for your friends and family, you will be very disappointed with the results.
The colour images displayed by this monitor are washed out giving that “faded photo look” reminiscent of photographs which have been lying in a drawer for the past 10 years and no amount of adjustments will get rid of this. Besides being disappointing, the colours displayed make it very difficult to do any photo editing and colour compensation as the colour of the images displayed on the monitor are simply not the colours captured by camera. This monitor replaces my Dell 1708 Ultrasharp and, as a side by side comparison, there is a “night and day” in colour reproduction between the two.
To summarize, there are far better monitors available that don’t have the baggage of poor colour reproduction and a highly reflective screen.
