Title: BEST MONITOR EVER!!!!
|
Date: April 9, 2007
|
Pros- Easy Setup. - Display is bright and crisp! - Easy to modify settings. - Comes with two monitor connection cables (one for VGA/SVGA and the other for DVI) - Look great for gaming and office productivity work. I am a software developer, and having a screen like this has helped me immensely. I can see more code on the screen and it is very clear, thus causing very little stress on my eyes. During my spare time, I also do some gaming. The gaming graphics render exceptionally well (way better than expected) for this size of a monitor. The setup was easy. I had this thing setup in less than 5 minutes. Works right out of the box. What was also nice was the fulfillment. Upon order, I had my monitor in 2 business days with FREE SHIPPING! JOB VERY WELL DONE! I AM ONE VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER!
ConsZero. I wish I could afford another one so that I could run dual monitors with these bad boys!
Review:My brother purchased an equivalent monitor for a local retail store. While it has a better price and a higher refresh rate, it pales in comparison when compared to this monitor. The quality is absolutely superb!

Title: Great for the price
|
Date: April 9, 2007

ProsGreat picture when you use the DVI cable connection. DVDs play great with little ghosting and no light bleeding at all. I game on it at full resolution and everything looks way better than my old CRT monitor. It set up really easy with my KVM switch and switches well between computers.
ConsVGA connection doesn't look as good but still looks fine when you get used to it.
Review:I shopped around and looked at a lot of different widescreen monitors and this one beat all of them in the price range.

Title: Cheerful Addition
|
Date: April 9, 2007
|
ProsSimple design, priced right, no-brainer set up (like plug it in), quick response time, easy to adjust screen, bright image with great color saturation, handsome, big enough to run my trading software and my charts at the same time (I use two monitors for this in another location, 19" Dell Hi-Res Flat Screen LCDs) and I actually like using this better. Don't ask me what I mean, but it just feels cheerful.
ConsI needed to do a custom gamma set up (very easy and practically automatic with XP) to get the richness of color and contrast to its max. Once done (3 minutes . . really), it's a mind blower. Even though not classified as a "Hi-Res" model, I find that reading black type on a white background does not "brighten out" but stays sufficiently clear and readable with no difficulty, even when small. For another wad of $$ it could be improved, but it wouldn't be worth it to me.
Review:Unless you're doing critical photo retouching (only a few monitors out there are really good enough for that, quite frankly) or have special gaming needs (I'm not conversant with those and am only supposing), this monitor will delight you and make your pocketbook happy as well.

Title: Excellent deal on a great display
|
Date: April 9, 2007
|
ProsUnbeatable price, large size, good image quality (excellent for the price), looks great with Dell Sound Bar (sold separately)
ConsStand has tilt adjustment only; no height or swivel. No USB ports as found on the Ultrasharp monitors, backlight is not as bright as higher-end models, some backlight bleed, viewing angle is vertically limited. All things considered, most of this is nitpicking given the insanely low price of this display.
Review:I've played around with the settings extensively and have achieved the best image setting the brightness to 100% and the contrast to 75%.

Title: great monitor for the price
|
Date: April 9, 2007
|
ProsBright, cheap, large screen, good resolution for the screen size (pitch). Well designed stand. Looks nice.
Cons6-bit per channel color causes some banding to appear in fine gradients and for some movies.
Review:With a 6-bit per pixel color range it can be a little bit band-y which can only be seen in fine gradients and in some movies. Other than that, its a beautiful monitor, great picture and well designed. Like I said in the title, great monitor for the price.

Title: Yeah, it's not that great.
|
Date: April 9, 2007
|
ProsWell, it works.
ConsThe color is off. There's a slight pinkish tint everywhere and it only gets worse if you look at the monitor anywhere other than head-on. Contrast and brightness changes too when you move your position. Try changing the brightness and contrast using the on-screen controls-- you'll really see the color banding problems that exist.
Review:For office work and internet surfing, it's cost effective and does the basics. For designers (I'm a web designer and freelance photographer) the color quality is a really big deal and this monitor isn't reliable for that kind of work. Basically, know what you're getting isn't a professional grade monitor. I switched for the Dell Ultrasharp monitors and those are simply more awesome in every way. You really get what you pay for.
