Title: Great Monitor for the Price
|
Date: April 19, 2007
|
ProsThis is a great monitor and I would tell anyone who is looking for a new LCD to buy one. Great resolution and is a great addition to my home office. I replaced my 17 CRT with this 22 inch and added a second monitor to my computer as a dell 15 inch flat panel. You definately can tell the difference between the two and it is a awesome product for an awesome price.
ConsThis monitor has no USB inputs or a nice stand. The stand only tilts back and forth and does not rise and lower or go side to side to show other people what you are working on. But for the overall cost of the monitor, this was not a big factor for me, plus it is a Dell, which is a good name.
Review:Great Buy

Title: Great Value For Money
|
Date: April 19, 2007
|
ProsThe size, the resolution, the slim edge around the screen makes the monitor look great. The picture quality is above average once you figure out how to adjust the settings.
ConsYou have to bet close to 90 degrees to the monitor to maintain the great picture quality. If you move further away from the 90 degrees the colors are distorted. No USB connections.

ProsHad mine for a week now and it is the best monitor I have seen. The cons on the other reviews,I have yet to see. The color depends on the graphices card that you have, and how it is adjusted.

ProsExcellent image quality

Review:I have not experienced any of the problems noted in some other reviews regarding light leakage and pink color cast. As regards the stand being not height adjustable, it shouldn't be an issue. At least, it's not an issue for me. You can get a straight line of sight to the monitor, without having to bend your neck, by adjusting the tilt if necessary.

ProsGreat color and clarity The stand is high quality and provides easy adjustment for shorter/taller people Takes up a lot less room than a 17"CRT less eye strain

Review:I bought the monitor because I started to do a lot of Autocad drafting at home and was getting a headache. I don't have to zoom in and out as much because I can view more area at a viewable size with this monitor.

Title: Best Bang for the Buck!
|
Date: April 12, 2007
|
ProsGreat monitor for working with applications that have wide horizontal work areas! I work with Flash, Illustrator and PhotoShop 90% of the time and this really helps with all of the tools that I have open and still letting me have descent viewing area of the images I'm working with. You can't find a monitor in this price range with better image quality imo.
ConsI am a graphics artist so image quality is everything. I still think the Ultra Sharp monitors Dell makes are a huge step up in picture quality. I'm picky so this does not mean you have a bad image on this monitor, just not as sharp and bright as my 19" Ultra Sharp Dell.
Review:All in all I think this was a great buy on my end and I am very happy with the purchase. I don't think you'll be dissappointed as long as you know what you're buying this for and thats SPACE to work in.

Title: A great display & fantastic value for money
|
Date: April 11, 2007
|
ProsI think this is a great display. Great design - slim bezel, it looks great. The picture for everyday computer work is fine - whether it be viewing photos, games or web browsing. I think this is exceptional value for money.
ConsIt was so bright out of the box it just about blew me away. I put brightness on 42 and Contrast on 61 which made it right for my home office.
Review:It is possible to see banding on flat colour gradations if one looks for it (but then I checked my old LCD which had the same thing - and I never noticed it!). If you are a graphics profession (or just particularly predantic about this subject) you might want to check it out before you buy, but I believe most people will never notice it.

Title: not great
|
Date: April 11, 2007
|
ProsI like the design. It's nice. The price is cheap. 3 years warranty.
ConsDoesn't have preset buttons for night, day, movie, picture mode. Colors are acceptable not great. Seem like more pink. Black is not black , light bleeding at corners.
Review:I bought this monitor to replace my 17'' flatron LG LCD. The size and shape look great( the included cables look cheap). the colors of my old 17'' LCD look better than the colors of this monitor. However, on Vista colors of the 228w look better than that of XP professional. Overall, this monitor is ok for the money I paid. If you want a better one, try a ultra- sharp one. Dell shipping was fast. Order on Sunday, got it on Tues.

Title: E228WFP 22' Widescreen
|
Date: April 10, 2007
|
ProsThe picture quality is awesome. It makes me cry to think my games could have looked this great all along. This monitor has great stability, looks good and is very slim for as big of a monitor as it is. Best pro of all, it's mine :).
ConsI am sitting her racking my brain just to come up with at least 1 con and I cannot. I guess for the sake of having a con category, I can see the pixels a bit when I watch some of my High Def videos... but of course, these videos are not used to be blown up to 1680x1050, so that is the best I can do.

Title: Great display for the price...
|
Date: April 10, 2007
|
ProsNice, wide view. I remember when the UPGRADE to a 17" CRT was a big deal. Now, 22" of wide screen, LCD real estate is quite affordable. The text is crisp, the colors saturated and the brightness outstanding.
ConsMy display, like others, was a bit "pink" out of the box. A quick calibration brought the color back to a more natural look and provided a solid profile. I also have the 24" Dell and this display does not have the viewing angle that the higher end line has. If you are not dead center, you will see a color cast. The ability to swivel would also be nice as would USB ports. but - add those features and the price would not be so affordable any longer.
Review:This display is very nice for anyone looking for an inexpensive upgrade path to a larger, LCD display.

Title: Most bang for your dollar
|
Date: April 10, 2007
|
ProsGreat value for the price! Perfect wide screen (not to small and not overly large for your desk). Great for gaming. No noticable latency, so no color bleeding or blurring in fast paced graphical games. Very well designed. Super brightness.
ConsLack of USB ports on the monitor. Color transistions are not smooth in some cases (mostly due to the small viewing angle). Small viewing angle (both vertically and horizontally).
Review:It would have been nice to have 1 or 2 USB ports on the monitor, but for the price, you can't get a better 22" flat panel. You will be very satisfied with this model. I give it 4 stars.
