Title: Gamer ready Widescreen
|
Date: April 23, 2007
|
ProsComing from a 17" for the last 7 years, this was a massive area increase. It definitely helps in every aspect I can have 6 spread sheets open at a time, the widescreen in video games is excellent, I play Counterstrike / Q4 / WoW and many others I have experienced NO GHOSTING at all. The viewing angle is very good, it looks excellent with my current setup on my desk( g15 keyboard mx518 mouse). If you are a serious gamer, don't hesitate to purchase this monitor, I've played competitive CS/War3/Quake and you will again not notice ghosting while running @ 60+ FPS in every game.
ConsThe white is very bright IMO, @ 50/50(monitor settings) and default ATI video, it can seem a bit to much at times. Not 19x12! I used to have 12x10 , so 16x-10x on widescreen wasn't a huge upgrade, if it supported 19x12 this thing would be unparalleled.
Review:I picked it up @ 299$ and suggest to all my friends and co-workers to look @ a dell monitors now, it was an excellent price versus a Samsung or Viewsonic. At the time it was 100-150$ cheaper then both brands and i was a bit hesitant in purchasing it, I am very glad I did and my next monitor will no doubt be a Dell as well.

Title: Review for Multimedia Designers
|
Date: April 23, 2007
|
ProsDell offers great pricing - given comparable monitors (size and feature) they come in well below the average, and shipping is fast - everything was well protected. The monitor has typical features for setup, and offers a second analogue input. It's stylish, and it offers a good resolution (widescreen equivalent of 1600x1200). It works well for video editing if you choose to use a single monitor - response rates are fine and the contrast ratio is neither too high nor too low (too high often results in you seeing and designing things that other monitors simply won't display). So far (5 months) there have been no technical issues (i.e. dead pixels, errant behaviour).
ConsImage quality. Gradient banding is a major issue on this monitor, if you plan to do a lot of Photoshop work, consider alternatives. There is some white bleed around the perimeter, and (like most LCD's) it isn't capable of displaying much more than 86-89% of the NTSC color gamut. Buy a manual correction tool (i.e Pantone Huey/Eye One) to help correct the overly warm picture. Menu functionality seems limited, and there are few options to correct the image via hardware settings.
Review:Picture in picture for the second input would be a major asset to video production. Adding some of the functionality found on the 24" monitor would be great, even as an option for a second line of 22" displays. It's a great value, but I should have considered alternatives for doing graphic design.

Title: Decent entry-level
|
Date: April 23, 2007
|
Pros- lots of screen space - inexpensive - fast enough for gaming - no dead pixels
Cons- 6-bit TN panel offers poor color reproduction; color banding evident - noticeable backlight bleed on black screen - no screen rotation - no USB ports - factory settings mean calibration is essential
Review:Good for office apps, web surfing, and gaming. If you need accurate color reproduction, get a better panel. Similar Acer models can be had for less.

Title: Asolutely Great Monitor for the price
|
Date: April 23, 2007
|
ProsThis is my very first LCD monitor and I did enough research and finally locked on this monitor for its price and quality. I've been using DELL products at work for the past 6 years now and there's no single occassion where I have personally reported any hardware related issues. I would definitely rate this monitor for its vast space for multi-tasking and good response time. I attempted watching movies with wide screen format and the clarity is abolutely great!
ConsNone so far.
Review:I would definitely recommend this monitor for its ease to watch & work with too many applications at a time with good good response time. Also watching movies is a plus with DVI input option for great clarity. I think the price has dropped further from the time I bought this product and its a nice monitor for the price.

Title: Awesome Monitor
|
Date: April 20, 2007
|
ProsThis monitor has an excellent picture. Great tones and brightness. I'm using this with two Dell Ultrasharp 18-inch monitors for web and graphic design. For the price this is by far the best monitor you can get.
ConsI wish it had a height-adjustable stand. It's not a huge con but it would have been nice to have as an option. I just bought a $20 stand from OfficeMax which does the job.
Review:If you're wanting a monitor larger than 20-inches without the 24-inch price tag, buy this monitor. I'll probably pick another one of these up for my mac as soon as I can.

Title: Best Display for the price
|
Date: April 20, 2007
|
ProsDell makes some of the best monitors period! I have owned several Dell LCD's and never had a problem out of any of them. I have installed over 1000 Dell flat panel monitors and have never seen a dead pixel or bad monitor. I highly recommend these monitors.
ConsNone
Review:Dude! Buy a Dell
