Title: Quality issues with this monitor
|
Date: May 13, 2007
|
ProsNice size. Text easy to read. Good price
ConsAt any brightness setting below 95% it makes an annoying hum. Did a google search, found this problem common in user forums ( non- Dell forums). The quality and sharpness of photos is worse than my 5 yr. old 19 in. BenQ in side by side testing. If you do not plan to view photos often, a good buy.
Review:I am going to exchange this monitor, fortunately Dell's customer service is good about exchanging items within a month of purchase.

Title: more blah blah
|
Date: April 28, 2007
|
ProsThe image quality is as good as, or slightly better than the competition at this price point. The price (especially as it is frequently "on sale") is a bargain.
ConsI haven't experienced any fringing or bleed problems as some have suggested, BUT, like many have pointed out, the support/stand mounting is wonky, crooked . . . which indicates a major set-up flaw in the machining at the factory. Considering no one ever really sits straight in their chair it is a minor inconvenience which you get accustomed to in no time . . . until you buy another monitor with a "straight" mount. In the interim, the weather is warming up, so buy a popsicle (the two stick kind) and when you are finished, put one stick under each of your left hand chair legs . . . that ought to put you at about the same angle.
Review:I am using this in a two monitor system doing photo-editing and 3d animation. My other monitor will be upgraded before long (27" or 30" hi-end screen). This is a welcome "space" on my desk that gives me a little more ease to work. It in no way can compare to an Eizo or a Sony Artisan, but for the money it is a very good entry/mid- level screen for serious use.

Title: Fantastic deal!!!
|
Date: April 27, 2007
|
ProsGreat bargain for such a high-quality monitor. I paid less for it ($275 total out-of-packet expense) than I would have for most 19 inch brand-name panels. Nice, simple design, very easy on the eyes, provides sharp, crisp and clear picture. Monitor was very easy to setup and included both a DMI and a VGA cable, plus a CD with the appropriate drivers.
ConsIt would be nice if swivel and pivot options were available. I use two flat panels at work, one in portrait and the other in landscape mode (for documents) and would love to have that option at home without having to pay an arm and a leg for them. My only major complain is that the resolution of the monitor is not great unless you set it up to 1680 x 1250, which does not work very nicely for people that need to see larger text and graphics.
Review:I can kick myself for not buying two of them at the same time when that great deal was offered. The base price just went up.

Title: Affortable, yet AWESOME widescreen LCD!
|
Date: April 26, 2007
|
ProsFast free delivery, extremely affortable price. And that's just for starters!. I have to say that when I went on line looking for boxing day sales my last thought would have been that I would buy a new montior. I had been toying with the idea of getting an LCD monitor for sometime but wanted to wait for the best deal. Well this 22" beauty fit the mark. To keep it simple...... it has the standard Dell slim bezel (Frame) design. It offers a great picture and has offered NO problems with either my Games of my favorite action packed DVD's. Bottom line is this widescreen looks great and performs to standards beyond its great low price. I have already got two friends on board and they definetly do not regret this purchase. You cannot go wrong with this one.
ConsNone.
Review:Buy it!

ProsAbsolutely no problems; great image quality and fair market price with no cost shipping.
ConsThe USB ports in my other Dell LCD monitor were handy, but no big deal that this one is without same.
