Title: Excellent product for a cheap price! Date: June 10, 2008
Pros-Crystal clear image
-Fast response time
-Takes up virtually no space
-No text blur, bleed in, anything!
Cons-Short power cord

Review:LOVE this monitor! Just got it on sale for $199 refurbished. Since it was refurbished I was expecting a lot of problems with the monitor since somebody obviously didn't want it, but I've had NO issues! Great with my Xbox 360 as well as my computer. The only problem? The power cord is way too short, so I've had to work around that. Also, I'd love to have HDMI with this but VGA is fine for me as well.

Title: Awesome! Date: March 20, 2007
ProsBeautiful wide Screen. Easy to work with two documents simultaneously. Large enough so that my eyes do not get tired anymore after working long hours. Working with websites or Paint Shop Pro is fantastic since I can move the Palettes, menus and tools out of the way and still have a work area the size of my old 17" CRT.
ConsWould have liked a swivel stand for showing someone else what I am working on. Not a big issue since the screen is so clear even from an angle.

Title: Dell 22" E228WFP Widescreen Monitor - Blackouts Date: June 12, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Video Editing, Travel, Music & Movies, Finances

Review:This monitor functioned well during the first 3 months of pruchase. Then it started blacking out all by its self. All auto of, auto savers are turned off. There is very good ventilation with No possability of over heating.

After about 20-30 minutes, the monitor will Blackout all on its own.

Then the time between Blackouts gets shorter, down to less than one minute.

The seller Retailer has been No help in getting problem fixed. Now he says there was No Warrantee.

Dell, OMG, you might as well say they don't exist. Getting into their site is impossable to ask even the easiest of questions.

I have to admit, the Cons by far out weigh the pros.

If you are looking to buy this version of monitor be sure you can make cantact with Dell direct.

Sorry, I would not reccomend this monitor to my worst enemy.

Title: Not bad for work, terrible for multimedia. Date: February 6, 2009
ProsThe monitor does come at a good price, a good warranty, and seems very capable. I am sure that if you were using this in an office for typical tasks, word processing, e-mail, that sort of thing it would be fine.
ConsTERRIBLE contrast ratio. I had this monitor for a 2 days and tried to watch a couple of movies on it, an it was unbearable. During dark scenes there was no detail.

Review:I didn't have it long enough to get a sense for some of the other issues like ghosting, response time, and that sort of thing.

Prosnot sure yet need to dig up some cables
ConsJust recieved my monitor and found out that they came with no cables, not even a power cable and after 45 minutes on the phone with support was told that all cables are consider accessories (sic)and are not included in outlet purchases.
So if you still want to buy one of their outlet monitors be sure you have cables.

Title: Thank you Dell! Date: January 28, 2009
ProsIf you want value this is the monitor for you. I use my computer for many things, but I wanted a bigger monitor for gaming. I'm not rich so I went out to look for a cost friendly, quality monitor. I have a Dell 1908FP that I love, and wanted to go Dell again. I bought a refurbished e228WFP, and I am very happy with it. It gives a sharp, crisp image. People complain about the TN panel, and for me this is not an issue. For the price, it is a great monitor. It looks nice on my desk, fits great with my 1908FP, and was an overall great purchase. Great response times for gaming, and once calibrated correctly (I used my graphic card's control panel), gives bright, full, color.
ConsFor the price of the monitor there aren't many. Out of the box the picture needed adjusting. Once adjusted, it is a beautiful display. It is not height adjustable, so I bought a stand online for a 1908FP that fit it like a glove.

Review:For years I couldn't give up my Dell CRT monitors with the Trinitron picture tube. The CRT's were great, but they took up a lot of room. I wanted a flat panel option, but wasn't thrilled with the picture of Flat Panels I had seen. I read reviews and pulled the trigger on Dell flat panels, and was extremely glad I did. For the money, they offer great value, which is so important these days. Thank you Dell!

Review:Would be nice if it had hight adjustment and a swivel stand. But you can get that on the more expensive model.

Make sure your video card can support this monitor. You must either update your drivers or buy a better video card.

Title: Replaced my pot belly CRT Date: January 12, 2009
ProsAfter doing my research looking for a widescreen panel monitor I found it at Dell. The space and brightness is truly a blessing doing my graphics work. Not to mention the price $159.00 for a 22" widescreen. I spend an endless amount of time in front of my computer more now than ever before, even after getting sick :-). I sit back and take in a movie or just play a game of MAHJONGG or BEJEWELED..... I'm very happy with my choice of monitor....

Title: Fantastic! Date: December 27, 2008
Pros-Excellent image quality and viewing angle.
-Sharp text.
-Great colors and black levels.
-Fast response time; zero perceptible blurring to my eyes.
-Easy setup, but make sure you get the optimal 1680 x 1050 resolution (may require an update to your video card driver -- also easy). Images, and especially text, are *amazingly* better at the optimal resolution.
Cons-No USB ports on the monitor (I knew this when I bought it, but it would still be nice to have one or two).
-No height adjustable stand (not a big deal for me, but may be for some people).

Review:An *outstanding* monitor at an outstanding price (bought it for $159 + tax refurbished from Dell Outlet). This one is for home, and I have the UltraSharp version at work, and I cannot see any image quality differences between the two. If you don't need USB ports or a height-adjustable stand, save yourself some cash ($30 - $50) and get this one. Side-by-side documents are a breeze, and the size increase over a 19" is huge. Highly recommend this monitor - you won't be disappointed! Side note - ordered on a Saturday, delivered on Wednesday with free 3-5 day shipping (I live just outside Philadelphia, PA). Good stuff!

Title: Excellent choice Date: December 9, 2008
ProsPicture quality is outstanding, I have trouble with my eyes and this monitor has made a huge difference. Fits well in my small area. Larger veiwing area but takes up much less space.
ConsWhen I received my computer the first monitor did not work. However it was replaced with a new one within days.

Review:Dell tech support was very helpful in the matter of the broken monitor. This is my third Dell computer, I'm hooked, I'll never get anything but a Dell from now on.
