Title: Great Monitor Date: May 29, 2007
ProsThis monitor is great. I am so pleased with my purchase. I read monitor reviews for weeks before I finally made my purchase. I visited the Dell Kiosk and several electronic stores and looked at numerous brands of monitors. After a long period of research I selected the Dell 20 inch monitor. I had a 17 inch Monitor and the amount of additional workspace with the 20 inch is incredible. I love this monitor. I think Dell has the best monitors on the market. The price is good, delivery time is very fast and the picture quality if oustanding.

Product Uses: home use

Review:We use these monitors at work & I really found the quality quite good. I decide to buy one for home. I play a bit of video games & I found the color & overall quality so much better then my old monitor. Seeing how well they lasted at work, was another consideration as the company I work for has purchased hundreds of them.

Title: Absolute perfection ! Date: October 30, 2009
Product Uses: web surfing, photo editing

Review:This monitor is simply stunning; clearly the best flat panel I've ever owned. Colors are super vibrant and text is razor sharp. My usage is normal web surfing and occasional photo editing. Editing is such a pleasure for me now with this monitor. And of course my 54 year old eyes appreciate the superb quality of this flat panel.

When I ordered it about a few months ago I didn't know at the time that there seems to be two versions of this panel. I think one is called a "TN" panel which some say is a quite good panel, and the other one is a superior quality S-IPS panel which luckily is the one that I recieved. That is easily verified with the last letter in the serial number being an "L".

I'm not too good with technical jargon as many folks here are, so about all I can add to the great reviews here is that I am so pleased with this monitor. I'll agree with all the other good reviews for it. I highly recommend this panel and if you are thinking about ordering one then I'd order it soon while these superior S-IPS panels are still available.

Title: awesome monitor Date: October 21, 2009
Review:This monitor is awesome. Just the right size and pixel ratio. I had recently purchased a wide-screen monitor thinking that was what I need for my web design business and ended up sending that one back. This one was very easy to set up, has various height and position adjustments to suit every taste and application, and the image clarity is fantastic.

Title: Great Monitor Date: October 1, 2009
Product Uses: business use, web design, graphic design

Review:I was looking to upgrade from an older 19" monitor. This monitor has the S-IPS panel which offers great display quality and is well worth the price for use in the office. This is one of the few 4:3 ratio monitors still on the market. If you are looking for a high qualiy non-widescreen monitor at a fair price the 2007FP is the one to get.

Title: I've just bought another of these. Date: August 18, 2009
Review:I've had one of these monitors for about since Christmas 2006, and recently thought I'd upgrade to something "bigger newer better" so I tried a couple of the new 24 HD widescreens, including the new LED.

There is no upgrade for this outstanding 20" Dell without spending a LOT of money. I ended up sending back the snazzy new 24 LED monitor and ordering another one of these 2007FP's, to be sure and have a spare.

This monitor is that good. Sharp. Bright. Vibrant deep colors. If like me you also prefer the taller screen height of the older 4:3 aspect ratio, you can't beat this monitor.

If I had some more money lying around I'd buy another one of these while they're still available new. The list price is $379 and you get what you pay for.

Review:I purchased a Untrasharp with my Dell XPS 600 and liked it so much that I recently purchased another for my Macintosh Pro.

I like the quality of the display and the ability to change from landscape to portrait.

I am a music composer and need to view small scores in landscape mode and large scores in Portrait mode.

This monitor is a great by at a good price.

Review:After many years using 2 monitors of different brand / size, I'm now trully in "dual-screen mode". After weeks of reading reviews, searching the net high & low for an affordable quality monitor, I set my choice on these UltraSharp 200FP (A05 revision and L serie serial number... thanks to the great advises I got from previous buyers). They are solid, really well designed, easy to set-up & they deliver! They look so fancy on my desktop (lollllll). They look as good as Apple's minus the tag price. Image is xtra clean, precise, sharp. I went for this one mainly because of the standard 4:3 ratio because new widescreen aren't for me. I prefer 2 standard than one widescreen (and 2 widescreens cannot take place on my desk). They are the most expensive Dell you'll find under 24" bit the S-IPS technology worth the xtra cash you'll throw. MONEY WELL SPENT! As for customer service, well... it's hard to deal with a salesrep in India that barely couldn't found the model I was asking for, even after I told him how to reach it (...). I was just about to crack when he got it. You'd better read many reviews and all informations because they can only answer 75% of asked questions. At the end, I got what I want and it's the most important.

Review:Overall, a very good monitor. But beware, there are two different monitor types sold under the same model number, and you have no control over which you get.

I bought 2 monitors, about two weeks apart. I want to use them side-by-side in a dual-monitor configuration, but the color (especially) white is very different between the two. It is extremely annoying, at best. The problem is that Dell sells two different monitors under the same model: IPS and PVA versions. They look very different, color-wise. Look at other sites - this is a well documented problem with this monitor. Other than this, I would give the monitor 5 stars.

Title: Great Monitor for Basic Use Date: April 24, 2009
ProsPerfect size unless your a Gamer or???
Wonderful overal image,color,clearity,etc.
Simple,Clean, and no nonsense design.
Upscaled Base with the bells and whistles.
Totally happy with this purchase. Had a 1908FP that has been very good and trouble free, but wanted to upscale and update.
ConsCan't find anything at this point but if I do, I have a 5year Premium Panel Warranty to protect my investment.....Thank you Dell.

Review:*** One important item.
This monitor was just purchased 4/22/09 and it came with the A05 revision and the "L" series serial number, so it has the S-IPS Panel. If that is important, you should order immediately while they are shipping this high quality Panel.
I feel really lucky as I am aware of this issue but highly doubted I would receive it.

Title: Terrific Monitor Date: March 29, 2009
ProsI've been considering a larger monitor for quite some time and ultimately put it off not only because of the cost but also because I was concerned about hooking it up to my existing hardware and the problems I might encounter along the way. Anyone having the same concerns....get this monitor. It's truly outstanding. First of all, from the time I opened the box to having the new screen hooked-up and turned on took me a total of 10 minutes (easy as pie!!). The best thing, however, is the size of this screen compared to what I had before. Believe me....the numbers are meaningless. This screen is huge and definitely worth the investment. The resolution is terrific, the images crisp, colors superb....altogether the best buy I've made in years!!

ProsAwesome monitor- i just cannot describe how pleased i am with my purchase.I started with 2001FTP and then swithched to this one as it came out.I compared it to a lot of other monitors - it is just out of comparison - then i bought another one for me ,2 for my brother ,another for my cousin and so on .Your eyes do not tire when viewing webpages ,gaming or whatsoever. After i moved my office i got one of dell NEW 22 widescreens-i can barely sit half an hour in front of it.So you better grab one while on sale or still in production-you wont regret.
ConsNONE

Title: Less than I expected Date: February 20, 2009
Pros-1600x1200 resolution is very nice
-Price recently lowered
- USB ports (if that matters, doesn't to me)
-As with all Dell UltraSharps, the stand is very nice
Cons-Dead pixel (bummer)
-Viewing angles worse than expected
-Not wild about the anti-glare coating

Review:I chose this monitor because I read that it came with either an S-IPS or an S-PVA panel, both of which are somewhat difficult to find, especially for a reasonable price.

After receiving mine, I have to wonder if I am reviewing the same monitor as everyone else here. Purchased Feb 2009, the model # on the monitor is 2007FPb.

The viewing angles are consistent with TN panels nowadays, so I have to wonder if revision b of this monitor uses a cheaper panel. It certainly does not compare to my other monitor, which has a PVA panel. This is definitely a disappointment.

IMO unless you have a particular reason for wanting 1600x1200 your money would be better spent on a cheap 24" with 1920x1200.

ProsColor reproduction and clarity. Does not fatigue the eyes with long viewing periods. Best viewing angles available with this S-IPS panel.
ConsNone

Review:For those who think its pricey, do your homework. This is an S-IPS panel with true 8 bit color reproduction, not a cheap TN panel like most monitors. Very reasonable price for the quality. I own 2 of these. Get one before TN panels take over the market.

Title: Driver issue, HELP! Won't rotate OS Date: August 28, 2008
ProsGreat 4:3, but the GRAPHIC DRIVER is messed up terribly and won't allow me to rotate the Operating System! I hooked up the monitor (to a Dell CPU) and loaded the CD that came with the monitor and in the User Guide on the CD it said to go to "support.dell.com" and download the latest driver for this monitor to be able to use the rotate feature. I did this and now the "latest" driver is totally screwed up and won;t allow me to rotate the OS no matter how many ways I tried. In the Intel Graphics Properties box, there's a section for "Display Settings" and a box for "Rotation" to enable rotation and I have it set to enable rotation but it is set at 0 degrees with a check mark and offers other degrees but won't allow me to change to 90 degrees or any other degree. Also, if I right click my desktop, in the Graphic Options if I choose "rotation" it only offer Normal and 180 degrees as option to rotate. There's NO option anywhere to rotate 90 degrees which is needed to use this monitor in portrait mode!
Can anyone please help or is anyone having this same problem? Thanks!
ConsUNABLE to ROTATE OPERATING SYSTEM to 90 Degrees to use Portriat Mode! Will NOT allow me to rotate OS by any method. Intel Graphics Driver won't work properly.

Review:Dell needs to address this DRIVER issue immediately.

Title: great LCD Date: May 7, 2008
ProsThis is my second 20 inch from dell.. and it is a great lcd.. very bright and crips picture...
ConsThe only con I do have is that in the middle of the screen there is a lit pixal. Which sometime's here is driving me nuts. But if i'm not thinking about it I don't see it at all.. Better then it being a dead pixal. Which it is a normal thing for them to have a couple so it say's..

Review:Good monitor the price is alittle high.. but i love dell's electronics. So i go with them anyways.
