Title: Too bad the AC adapter isn't as nice as the laptop
|
Date: April 2, 2008
|
ProsPowers your laptop (until it breaks, which it will)
Cons-Rubber strap breaks easily -The molded DC cord from the laptop to the adapter has no strain relief (unlike the AC side that goes into the wall). This will quickly short out and need replacement -The power supply is bulky -The power supply has proprietary chips in it that prevent you from using third party portable adapters
ReviewThe Latitude is a great laptop. This power supply leaves alot to be desired.

Title: replacing the power cord again
|
Date: March 17, 2008
|
Prosit works (for a while)
ConsIt seems that everyone is having the same problem with the cords! I have had my laptop for two years and this is a second cord I have had to replace. it certainly is NOT DESIGNED WELL. This is supposed to be a portable computer, but the power cord is not designed to take it!
ReviewSOME ONE NEEDS TO DESIGN A BETTER POWER CORD!

Title: DC input shorted out
|
Date: January 6, 2008
|
ProsYour laptop needs an AC power adapter. This is an AC power adapter.
ConsThe rubber strap is not great for wrapping up the cords. The DC input cord shorted out, in this case due to a severe pinch which resulted in visible physical damage.
ReviewIt is great that a replacement AC cord is available. Why doesn't somebody design a power adapter where the easily damaged DC cord can be replaced? It stings me to have to replace a perfectly good AC power pack because the tiny wires in the DC cord got bent/pinched the wrong way.

Title: Power for Price?
|
Date: September 30, 2007

ProsLight weight and long cord.
ConsI agree, the plug in connection shorts out or breaks internally with frequent use. Strap to hold cord after rapping wore out quickly.

Title: Hostage

Date: September 4, 2007

ProsIt works, but for how long?
ConsThis is the third power cord for our laptop. Design is not suitable for frequent plugging/unplugging of the cord. Best guess is that the cord shorts out at the AC Plug end.
ReviewReality is a new battery is needed to avoid having to cart around the AC cord to power up the laptop. More$$$.

ProsThis charger has always charged my battery quickly.
Consthe adapter end that plugs into the computer is of poor design if needed in an enviriment where it will be subjected to bouncing around while charging (such as in a big rig). I have only owned my computer since April, an here in August, I need to buy a replacement. The end and the strain connection is not really built heavy duty enough.

Title: Well made and a perfect fit.
|
Date: June 18, 2007

ProsHeavy duty, built like a tank. Nice long power cord. Power my D600 perfect.
ConsNONE
ReviewI am not sure where the negative comments come from with the past customers. I have used many AC adapters and this is the best of them yet. Price is right for the construction.

Title: Unreliable item
|
Date: May 18, 2007

ProsNone
ConsCord cheaply manufactured. After a few months of usage it will disable the adapter. The three prones plug is suspect and is badly designed and looks weird. To replace the adapter, it will cost you around $80 !

Title: Great power adapter
|
Date: March 20, 2007
|
ProsIt charges my It charges my 6 cell battery FAST. When my battery is almost dead, I plug in and it is charged in less than 30 minutes!!
ConsLittle on the heavy, large side but that is ok.
ReviewFor the price, it is a great product. As for when you buy it separate and don't get the wall cord, I don't know about that. It came with my D820 when I got it.
