Poor Label Handling, Word Errors

Product Uses:graphic design, general use
Review:This printer came free with my Dell system, but instead of buying replacement toner and a network adapter, I might have been better off investing in a better printer.
Major margin problems printing Avery labels (both other printers handle labels fine). Printing out of MS Word 2007 generates a fatal error that sometimes hangs the system. Word docs must be printed to PDF first. There are no problems printing from any other application (including Excel 2007).
Otherwise, the 1320c has performed reasonably well, but I wouldn't recommend buying this printer.

Quick printer

Product Uses:fliers and newsletters, work orders
Review:This printer depends on the use you have for it.
I use it for fliers and newsletters for our Scout troop and to print work orders for my job.
Its prints really fast.(I was picking pages for it to print off of the web , and it stayed with or got ahead of me after it came out of sleep mode) Toner is expensive, but it's use is very low, so we bought this to save money on ink cartridges that we were flying thru on our old ink jet printer. Everyone imediatly noticed the hugh inprovment on our newsletters.. Great printer for the price.

Recent review

Product Uses:school teacher support, map printing, fundraising project support
Review:The output is outstanding. Once you figure out the duplexing options, it's a neat future for manual duplexing. The out of paper notification experience was clear and obvious. As a network printer sitting in a bedroom, it's a bit large, but the output quality compensates for the large printer in the room.

I love it!

Product Uses:graphics, school work, power points, general printing
Review:Pros: Fast, Crisp prints, Easy to set up on network, Clean crisp design.
Cons: None at all!
I love this printer. I bought it because my Dell AIO 926 ink jet was getting costly. We were going through ink like it was going out of style. I came across this printer and after setting it up, which was a breeze, I fell in love with it. I had an issue where it was displaying an error when I first turned it on, but after a few minutes it fixed itself. Also, the printer got sort of hot on top, which had me concerned but it cools off once it goes idle.

Good Local Network Printer

Product Uses:retired home use
Review:I had a Dell B&W laser printer that stopped picking up the paper. I was suprised this printer is a lot larger and had to make a place for it. I am very happy with this printer it was easy to set up on my home network and does a excellent job of printing for my home uses. I still use a inkjet for pictures but I will probably try sometime on this printer. I don't expect it to print pictures as well as the inkjet.

Best printer value yet

Product Uses:charts and graphs for presentations meetings, instructional materials production
Review:I will never settle for a mediocre printer for the work I do and this unit has not failed me. Easily networked and quality of outputs are significantly impressive features of this laser printer, inclusive of life span for cartridges. At the price, they are significant bargains in my view compared to the dinosaur ink jet at its best.

Awesome color laser for home use

Review:Have always felt the let down from using laser printers @ work, then settling for inkjet printer @ home, until now. This printer really delivers, I have 2 teen-aged kids that are constantly using our printer & they love it. Probably my favorite feature is the really short print time from an "idle" status. Great value!

Nice printer

Review:Good price, reasonable cost on consumables. The Indian based customer service makes dealing directly with customer service problematic at best and seems designed to minimize the support fuction.

Love It

Review:Love, Love, Love this printer! I bought this printer to use for my business. It is wonderful! The color is amazing. It prints relatively fast and it somewhat energy efficient. It is ENERGY STAR rated! The ink is pricey, but there are other sources that are cheaper than buying directly from Dell.

Splotchy printing is terrible

Product Uses:marketing, handouts
Review:The printer is a great value when it's working, but, I've had my printer replaced 4 times now and all for the same reason . . . splotchy printing. So I must say, the warrenty is great but the printer is a looser.

A good solid Color Laser

Product Uses:home, work, photos
Review:I bought this for home use. This is a very good laser jet. Quality is better the my ink jets, and the color laser at work. Some reviews say it's slow, but I really have not noticed it to be unusually slow. It was easy to install and network and had no issues. The price was great! My only negative would be the size. It is a rather large machine, but I expected it, and the plus out weigh the 1 minor negative. If you have limited space, check the size specs first, otherwise this is a great printer for the price.

Best color laser for the money if on sale

Product Uses:research documents, software dev, images, miscellaneous documents, document proofs, lots more
Review:The market is becoming increasingly crowded with color laser printers. However, a few do stand out, and the 1320c definitely is one of them. I purchased it new for $170 on sale. At this price, it easily eclipses most other printers, and is a huge step above the 1230c (which should be avoided for its slow color print speeds and moire it generates in color prints).
There are two drawbacks, and one of them is significant. The first is easily solved - it's a big printer, and needs an area that accommodates it. However, the cost of replacing the cartridges with high-yield Dell toner cartridges is pretty extreme - if I were to use Dell cartridges, it'd cost almost twice what I paid for the printer. I will likely use aftermarket refills, and from the positive results I've read, they will work perfectly.
Color reproduction is simply outstanding. I *highly* recommend changing the default document type settings when printing photos and graphics, because if left on standard text&graphics mode, it tends to excessively darken images to help the text look more black. A simple change in the printer options, and your pictures will look better than a magazine cover. Guaranteed.
It's fast, and delivers on time. A duplexer option would be nice, but would, of course, significantly alter the price point. The NIC is reliable, and I have never lost a print job because of network issues. Lastly, the web-based interface is a fantastic options - I wish that all network printers had this capability.
All the above being said, when it's on sale, there is no better deal out there, period.

Excellent Printer

Review:I've been using this printer for more than year and a half. I've changed the black ink only once and have not had to change any of the color ink, yet. Pretty durable printer for my line of work. My son also prints his "art" projects from his Mickey Mouse paint CD -- and that uses a lot of color ink! The black and white prints are great quality (like printing on high powered work printer). The color prints are equally outstanding. Not so great for printing pictures. I haven't quite figured out the wireless/network capabilities yet but I will soon.

Not the worst but there are better buys.

Review:The printer is not so slow that you want to throw it out the window but compared to what most people expect from a laser printer it is not what I would consider fast either. Print quality is good. The toner cartridges cost as much as the printer. That's about it.
