Title: M109S Projector
Date: November 3, 2009
Product Uses: flight training simulator
Review:After reading the specs prior to ordering I carefully reviewed the features and was very pleased with the projector when I first tried it out in my application. I was looking for a compact, low heat generating unit to use in the cabin of a full motion flight simulator to project out the window (OTW) views to create a 135 degree seamless image. I plan to use 3 of the units, each providing a 45 degree field of view. The interior of the simulator cabin is in darkness which takes best advantage of the low light output of the LED lamps. At 63 inch lens to curved screen distance each pixel on the screen is less than a millimeter square. Using velcro to attach the projector to an square aluminum plate with a 1/4-20 threaded hole allows easy yet firm mounting on a mini tripod head. Being an industrial designer I do not think I could have designed a better projector for the application and the long life of the LED lamps is another strong feature. If the three projectors work out well I am thinking of adding two more for a total of 5 giving a 225 degree seamless field of view. Again, I could not be more pleased!

Title: More than expected!
Date: October 8, 2009
Product Uses: for business, personal use
Review:It really performs better than expected it to do. I bought it for three reasons: 1. I am a photographer and wanted my clients to have a better experience when they see for the first time the slide shows when I present them at their homes. For me, portability is a MUST! 2. watch my favorites movies. 3. My daughter enjoys a lot her favorites tv programs on a big screen.

Title: Great little product
Date: September 25, 2009
Product Uses: giving presentations to groups of 20-40 people
Review:I received the M109S projector last week, after purchasing it while on sale w/ free shipping. I had three days to play with it and test it out before giving my first presentation with it. The projector worked great. Several senior citizens (in the back of the room) reported no problems seeing the images on the screen with the lights in the room turned off. There was light spilling into the room from the main library outside - but the image was still clear and legible.

Review:Pros: Great Product, easy to work, great for travel. Light weight Cons: Comes with a pouch to hold the projector and its main cable, could use a pouch that holds the power cord also. Not an option. Used it on the side of an aircraft fuselage in a south american country, to help with trouble shooting. Paid for it's self 1st time used.

Title: Pocket Projector
Date: September 10, 2009
Product Uses: classroom, watching hulu at work, 72" hd tv at home, sitting in the hot tub projecting onto the house.
Review:As the name implies, this is a pocket sized projector. Being an instructor in a classroom with minimal to no security, the ability to pickup the projector and put it in a cargo pocket when I leave the room is precious. It does exactly what it says, it works best in a dimly lit area although just turn off the front lights is acceptable in most cases. For those that found the cable "brittle" may I suggest that you stop trying to cram 5 pounds of things into a 3 pound bag. The projectors case is obviously made to fit only the projector with the cable removed, anyone trying to store it with the cable attached must be daffy. I have used it daily since it arrived and I have found it easily used, and only slightly touchy to focus.

Title: Dissapointed
Date: September 8, 2009
Review:I got this projector thinking i would show my 9 months old some cartoon movies ,I am too shocked by the positive reviews , This unit is small and nice but when you actually start seeing it's result , it's dim , unclear and looks like my eyes will get spoiled. I tried in a total dark room , but still it reflects it's price , for the price it maybe good, but as a movie fan , you will not be able to enjoy any kind of movie with this unless you pull the projector just 2/3 inch away from the wall

Review:I'm stunned by all the positive reviews. In a business setting this device is useless. Tried it out in a darkened meeting room, 10 ' from a white board and the image was hardly visible. Rendering this device pretty much useless in a business setting I would say.

Title: It projects! coms compromises
Date: August 30, 2009
Product Uses: video, second monitor on netbook, Presentation
Review:So, the brightness is sufficient for low ambient light areas, in darkness however it can be pulled back quite a ways, at a distance of 15' it's throwing a greater than 6' image on the wall and it's usable. Have been watching video on it, and while the contrast and color isn't up to the level of my panasonic 720p projector (A mere 13 pounds heavier), it is acceptable...
I got this for the small size, perception that it would be durable and the ability to toss it in the bag. it's smallness is somewhat compromised by the stupid huge dell power supply. while smaller that my old dell laptops power supply perhaps 2.5x the size of the one that came with my asus netbook which is of roughly equivalent capacity...
Assuming no failures in the immediate future, I think I'll be quite happy with it, but the notable compromises are:
power brick
hydra cable has a really lame connector
tension on cable frequently shifts projector
bag doesn't actually hold all the parts
needs a foot in the front to tip the projector up
Am assuming that the recent discount was do to the imminent arrival of a new one. That's fine the price was right.

Title: Good for a small unit....
Date: August 6, 2009
Review:For a small unit, the video quality is up par with a regular dlp projector. The brightness is on the darker side. It can be use under dim room but not a bright room. The only thing I'm concerning is the connection between the unit and the cable. The connection is very delicate and fragile. Regular pluging and unpluging can easily damage the connection.

Review:Pros>
This is very great product. SIZE. After reading all of the reviews on the site I decided to give it a try. I was expecting a flimsy build but instead it was very sturdy little sucker. I read about focus issues but I have yet to find any. The video quality turned out better than I had expected (70 inches). The Automatic Keystone Correction function is a great addition, not having to manually change the settings. The visual appeal of this projector impressed all the guests that were over as well as the quality of picture it produced. The touch buttons on top of the projector are a bit messy to work with but it works pretty flawlessly, I was impressed with the improvement from my LG cell phone touch buttons. The Phlatlight Technology is wonderful! The lamp will last as long as the life of the projector itself! With the way Dell packs this projector I don't think it would break if it were thrown against the wall. But I wouldn't try.
Cons>
This little sucker does heat up! It's not too hot to touch but it is a wee bit irritating. The multi-connector input works fine, but it seems that with ease, could short out if it were bent too much. Not having the ability to adjust the angle of the projector is a setback but can be dealt with a simple solution, such as a sharpie. The display is fantastic...if in LOW LIGHT or DARK rooms otherwise you will have to scale down the size if you want to regain the brightness. This is great tho for anyone who has control over lighting. If this unit would have had a mini speaker it would have made it much more versatile, but it is not much of an issue, it is easy problem to fix. The cables are a bit of a pain because when stored take up more space than the projector itself. It is a middle child between pico and full sized projectors (Palm Sized). One more minor con that may bug neat freaks is the glossy design on the projector, your finger prints will be left all over this part of the projector, so be prepared to constantly clean it.
Review>
This is great for your first projector! It may have some annoying quirks but it is a neat, PORTABLE, 80 inch screen! It is worth the $313.57!

Title: GREAT BUY
Date: July 30, 2009
Review:I have been buying computers for years off dell and have always been skeptical of buying a projector for normal home usage until now. I am completely satisfied with the Dell M109s. For 300.00 when it was on sell I am looking at a 70" screen while I am posting this review! Im a big gamer and this works out perfect for that and also wonderful for movies. For anyone who doesnt need every light in the house on I highly recommend this over a traditional bigscreen! It only uses 47 watts max electricity and lasts up to 10000 hours all under 1lb. :)

Title: Almost perfect
Date: June 12, 2009
Product Uses: Travel, Music & Movies, Presentation
Review:The project is almost perfect. It is small as promised and the image is much better than we thought it would be after reading the other reviews. The only part that is badly thought out is the all-in-one cable. The cable is too short to allow for any flexibility (aka you need to setup the projector somewhere that has enough room for both the projector and the laptop). Also, like someone else pointed out: "stuffing the cord into the small case bends the wires and caused mine to fail (break internally...)". Our cable failed in less than six weeks in exactly the same way so now we are stuck in Europe with not way to use our projector. Cable aside, the project is absolutely great! So 4/5 as far as we are concerned.

Review:It's a really nice projector. It's great for watching movies, and gaming but the room has to be dark in order to enjoy them. Its so small making it convinient to move around anywhere. I'm enjoying a 140" screen from about 12 feet away all for under 5 benjamins.
Button controls on the projector could be better and More lumens please! I only recommend this projector for watching movies in a dark room and playing video games. Its not good for presentations and internet browsing due to smaller texts being blurry and again the room has to be dark.
For the price you cant go wrong with this projector if you are looking for a Home Theater Projector.

Review:M109S review.
8/10 in the coolness factor. Would use higher end projector for backyard film night or large scale conference. But for on the road small footprint is a luxury. Decent resolution up 10 90inches as long as dim lights not completely dark but hard to manage in light. Unit uses little energy and no worries about an exspensive bulb to go out on you. Great for on the road or a back up unit.

Title: Dim-witted Purchase
Date: April 26, 2009
ProsSmall, light, easy to pack Cons50 Lumens? 50?? To put that in perspective, a typical LCD projector is 1500 lumens and big ones are 2500+. Of course those are pushing a much larger image as well. But even at computer monitor size - 50 Lumens is a flashlight - this thing barely shows a 3' diagaonal image in a room with _any_ ambient light. You will literally have to do your presentation in the dark.
Review:All of the pocket projectors on the market are barely bright enough to use - the Dell is no worse than the othere, unfortunately it's no better. There must be a technical limitation in the LCD lamps at this size or the heat dissipation or something that's preventing them from making a brighter unit. For the same price, unless you're flying, it's not much more hassle to hassle to carry an actual LCD monitor to turn toward a small room.

Date: April 21, 2009
Product Uses: small, designed and built well
Review:The size is great. Smaller than i expected. Overall design, fit & finish is perfect. Unfortunatley it is not bright enough unless in a completely dark room. Not sure who presents in the dark. I would recommend a larger lcd or wait for a brighter solution.
