Review:I have this printer about 3 years is almost new, I use to work in a print shop an I have a lot papers in diferent size but i never be able to print custom size only 8.5 x 11

NO LOW CARTRIDGE WARNING

Review:I liked this printer until one of the color cartridges emptied. I expected to receive a message of "(color) cartridge low". Instead, the message appeared when I attempted to print. Now, it will not print at all until I change this cartridge. Dell cannot get the new cartridge to me until about a week at least! I always plan ahead and purchase new ones immediately after receiving the low cartridge notice, and they arrive well ahead of time. If you purchase this printer, stock up on the toner!!

Replace That Ink Jet With Laser

Review:Bought a printer 10 years ago (when printers were expensive). An HP Photosmart, ink jet, a very fine printer. But, would not evolve past Windows operating system XP. HP would not provide any further drivers. Researched laser printers, and bought the Dell 2130cn Color Laser Printer. The cost was less then the printer ten years ago, and laser to boot. The quality is better then expected, and great for photo reproduction. The wife wants me to re-print the ink jet photos to laser now, no compareson to the laser prints. Documents are outstanding. Do not let the price of toner deter you from laser printing. The price per printed page far out wiegths ink jet. Plan ahead for actual printer size. Wider then most towers by 2 to 3 times, but very worth the space.

1. No driver support for Microsoft's latest Windows 2008 R2 server OS. I've contacted Dell enterprise support and their response was "We don't have the driver for your OS." and "We don't have any update for that OS."

2. The manual single paper feed is prone to jamming and hard to align.
Otherwise this is a nice printer for the small office with excellent B&W and color printouts.

Great Home Network Color Laser Printer
Review:I have installed (with the help of Dell Tech) this as my home network printer. Took all of about 10 minutes with Dell Tech. It serves 7 pc's with Windows 7. I upgraded the memory to 1 gb. It works great. Should have done this sooner.

Review:I've bought this product for a customer in basis of my own experience with the Dell 3100cn line printer, very similar to the 2130cn and which I had for some years now.
The setup is a breeze, even a non-technical person will be able to do it without a problem, the capabilities and quality of this product make it very worthy for a small business, and with the included support and warranty, it makes a no-brainer to decide buying it.
I will highly recommend this product for a small business or home/office use!

Quality Color Laser Printer for a Bargain Price

Review:A quality color laser printer for a bargain price. On sale, barely $200. direct from Dell. Thank you Dell!
The printer is large, but if you like to print color graphics, and don't want to spend a mint on inkjet cartridges, you won't regret buying this printer.
Printouts are superior, Colors are vivid and accurate. While not as nice as Even photo printouts look great. While not as vivid as a photo print from the I never have to worry about smearing like an inkjet printer, almost never have to replace the toner cartridges.
I'm not too excited about the SSF (Single Sheet Feeder). I liked the 3110cn MFP (Manual Paper Feeder) better. It's very hard to get the paper to go in straight, which makes for a crooked printout, and sometimes the paper creases as it goes in. So I bypass the SSF and put the paper in Tray1 to avoid this.
Otherwise, happy!

I bought this printer because I was sick and tired of Ink Jet Printers. I have gone through at least 8 Ink Jets in the past 6 years both Epson and HP. They are all junk to me. The Dell Printer has outperformed all expectations, the color is beautiful and it prints color photos as well as any ink jet. This baby is a beast though. It weighs in at 40 pounds and the footprint is tremendous. Besides that, it is one great printer, quiet for a laser. The installation is very easy, I had it up and running in less than 30 minutes. The installation instructions are very easy to follow.
Cons:
None so far, except the size and weight but that is easy to live with.

Review:Great printer for everyday use. Toner is quite expensive. Do not use generic toner as it may ruin your control unit (I know from experience) and of course we're out of warranty so it's not worth fixing. Otherwise, it's very heavy and very large. If you have the space and money to buy ink it's a great printer.

Review:Generally very happy with this machine. Price was great, hook up and install seamless. The only complaint I have is with color accuracey. No matter what I do with tool box the colors are not correct. In this case too yellow. Usually doesn't bother me too much but if I want correct color I have to go to my Xerox Phaser 8860n
Way quieter than my Phasers.

Very nice printer with overpriced accessories
Review:I have used this printer quite a bit in the month I have had it and the only complaint I have is the accessories are just ridiculously overpriced. That is the reason for 4 stars. When you want a duplexer and extra tray that cost you 1.5 times as much as I paid for the whole printer, that is just ludicrous.
Now for the printer. BEAUTIFUL prints. I can not stress enough how beautiful they are. I have used inkjet my entire life because laser printers used to be awful at printing graphics. I say this is true no more. I can print pictures on plain paper that blow my inkjet away on the same paper. I have printed on sticker paper also, with no problems at all. Makes it great to print shipping labels out.
Of course, no printer review would be complete without looking at the consumables. I really wish the government would follow up with the investigation they were doing because inkjet and toner cartridges are priced in the stratosphere. I think toner has a better cost rating per page, but toner does not cost but a dollar or two for the amount you get.
I still say this printer is a win! I am very pleased with it so far and hope to get many years of use from it.
For the people talking about noise - you do realize you bought an office printer and not a home printer? How loud is that inkjet when it spits out 30ppm? ;) I have had inkjet for years and yes, the laser is louder, but it is in a different realm of performance and the bit of noise is well worth it in my book.

Review:After 32 years of printing experience; HP to Epson and every MFG in between, I have finally found the optimal Color Laser ever owned. Under $300 dollars it is a steal- 10 rating on ease of use - competitive toner replacement costs - quick high quality print speeds with 90% paper color coverage on letter/legal. Anything else would be a compromise and waste of money. Just try it, you'll be sold. Thanks Dell!

Solid machine great color
Review:A good strong printer that offers great color and so far has been without incident. The extra paper tray is a must and handles production well. Upgraded the memory due to types of reports and number of pages. I easily run through 500 pgs just to get analysis completed. Handles graphs extremely well. One issue is that the engine does not handle 'postscript' ie can't convert document to .pdf. When the printer is the default mode ... that was a surprise but an easy workaround. DELL support identified the issue very helpful.
