Title: Great Size - Picture
Date: January 23, 2010
Product Uses: software development, web browsing
Review:I received the monitor for XMAS and the size is absolutely amazing. At first you need to get use to the smaller text but afterwhile it grows on you. The clarity of the text is nice and sharp. My only issues with the monitor is a slight graininess from the antiglare coating and the single input. Overall i would give the monitor a 8.5/10

Title: Beautiful Picture & Color Management
Date: January 12, 2010
Review:I debated long and hard before finally pulling the trigger on this purchase, but when the price dropped below $1K, I couldn't resist. It's got an IPS panel- you can't get any better for photo editing or any other color critical application. Run-of-the-mill TN panels are not adequate for photo editing because the colors change quite rapidly as you slightly change viewing angle. I was reluctant to drop so much money on a monitor but have no regrets. The picture quality is fantastic, the USB hub & card reader are the icing on the cake.
Because this is a 'high color' monitor which is capable of displaying more colors than your typical monitor, color management becomes an issue (at least in XP). Most users probably won't even notice the issue. If you're keen on color management, it comes down to this: when viewing pictures in applications which are not color managed, including Picasa, pictures look more saturated than they really should. If you're new to color management, I suggest you read up about color management and this monitor before buying. If you have color management software and colorimeter, you should be able to tame this beast-at least for color managed apps like Photoshop and the latest Firefox versions. It doesn't look bad when unmanaged, just a bit oversaturated.
Ultimately, the color management issue is not due to the monitor, it's due to the OS limitations and applications. This monitor goes above and beyond what the norm is and it takes some effort to get it to display perfectly.
Pros: IPS panel, card reader, USB hub, great price when you time it right
Cons: No built-in control of picture except brightness. You must use the video card control panel to do any tweaking.

Title: Excellent Product
Date: December 16, 2009
Product Uses: as computer monitor, watch hd tv
Review:I have this monitor for about 9 months and I am extremely pleased with it. I watch HD TV on it and and get excellent picture. What I like most of all is the ability to zoom in on web page at 250% and can read without squinting. If you have a sight problem it will put to end you squinting problems. It also allow you to view two documents each taking up half the monitor and you can read clearly. The price is high and Dell has increased the price since I bought mine. If you are limited on cash wait and save a little more. You wont regret it. I have had no problems with this monitor since I got it.

Title: Awesome Monitor
Date: November 23, 2009
Product Uses: Gaming, web surfing, home office
Review:Pros
I have no complaints about the monitor. I initially got this monitor to enhance my experience while playing games. When I kick up the resolution all the way I see detail in my games that I never saw before. For example, all gems now sparkle and the lighting effects are truly awesome. There is much more detail on leaves, trees, and colors are much more richer. In the non-gaming environment, the extra screen real estate is a real bonus. You can have many windows open at the same time which makes you much more productive.
Cons
If there is any complaint at all, it is because Dell supplied some lousy drivers that don't work properly with Windows Vista 64-bit systems. The drivers are not necessary so it's not a big deal. Lastly, text can be small at the highest resolution but this is easily resolved by cranking up the DPI settings to large text.

Title: Huge!
Date: November 23, 2009
Product Uses: home theater pc
Review:Overall, a fantastic purchase and a great monitor. It isn't flawless but the sheer size makes up for it. The flaws were one stuck pixel (red) and an uneven backlight (the left and right edges are slightly darker than the rest of the screen, especially with a white background). But these are realy piddling nits when compared to everything else. Buying this monitor truly completed my HTPC project and I would gladly recommend this display to anyone.

Review:I have been using one of these at work so I am buying one for home. I am a IT networking engineer. For the money this is the best 30inch I could find.
To all you newbies complaining of small text, there is a thing in windows call DPI scaling. If you bump your scaling up to 120 or larger, your text and fonts will be larger when running the native resolution on the monitor.
I am going through this at work right now. We have everyone upgrading to these very nice 19 inch wide-screens and the users complain that the text is to small so they run these things at 800x600 and wonder why everything is so blurry. Even though I try to explain to them about the DPI scaling they just grumble and use it at those blurry settings. Unbeleivable...

Title: Excellent Product

Review:I recently went with the Dell 3007WFP-HC after trying numerous other offerings from other makers. I originally did not see myself purchasing a 30" monitor but the price at the Dell outlet was too good to pass up!
Pros: Display and Cost
IPS. What more is there to say? The color is excellent and extremely even. The backlight has no bright/dark spots. The viewing angles of 178/178 are outstanding. No dead pixels. 2560x1600 looks amazing, albeit maybe a little small for folks with poor eyesight. No noticeable input lag at all while playing games. No ghosting. No color banding that I have seen.
Cons: Sound/Functionality with consoles
Sound? there is none. This panel has no speakers.
Functionality with a console (XBOX 360 and/or PS3)? None. There is no way to hook up an XBOX 360 or PS3 to this panel.
Final Comments:
If you are looking for a fantastic panel with excellent color, great viewing angles, a very high resolution, and no noticeable input lag for PC gaming....go with the 3007WFP-HC. Notice I referenced the "3007WFP-HC" with regards to no noticeable input lag and not the 3008 model. ;)

Title: Absolutely Love it!
Date: July 22, 2009
Product Uses: Finances, Gaming, browsing, video
Review:I am absolutely tickled pink with my new monitor. I upgraded from the 2407 which is a wonderful monitor and I cannot get over the size difference.
It is amazing. You can view entire web pages in one shot which is extremely useful for financial analysis or pages with a lot of information. Much more efficient than running multiple monitors.
Movies are fantastic and the color is extremely vibrant.
Gaming is a whole new experience especially on titles such as Crisis. However! to run full resolution requires a mondo powerful GPU.
The only drawback is that the dark levels could be darker.

Title: 3007WFP Excellent with minor spurious signal fix
Review:Hi, I only use Dell Ultrasharp monitors because of their quality. I own a 2001, 2-2007, 2007WFP, 2-2407WFP, and now a 3007WFP. I have to say the 3007 is very good in all aspects. The only minor issue is spurious banding and random green dots after waking from sleep. It turns out that this is an issue with other 30 inch screens - especially apple ones. I have had the monitor for a week and this has occurred 4 times. It is not the video card - I tried a 3650 and a 4650, it is not the system - I tried two different pc's with a dual-link DVI output. It is not dual-monitor mode - It turns out to be a resolution issue. The fix is: reduce the resolution temporarily to 1280x800 and then back up to 2560x1600 and all the random dots and banding disappear for the rest of the day. thank you /michael

Title: Just Buy Two and Save Yourself a Trip
Date: March 5, 2009
Pros-Unbelievable amounts of desktop space. -Great viewing contrast in portrait mode. -Nice visual appearance. Cons-No color adjustment controls. -Takes up half of my desk (can't decide if this is a pro or a con). -No screen rotate feature
Review:I knew I'd want another one of these, so I just ordered them both at once. I haven't been disappointed. I configured my computer with these monitors in mind and made sure I had one with 2 dual-link DVI ports (ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT). They're replacing two 24-inch monitors... you can't really appreciate how much more desktop space your getting over a 24-inch until you view them side.
I use these primarily for software development, and have one running in portrait mode, the other in landscape. It's nice to have a screen available for whatever whether the task fits best in horizontal space (editors, movies, etc) or vertical space (file browsers, blogs, etc).

Title: 30" for $750! Bare Bones on Features
Date: January 14, 2009
ProsIt's very big. Not complicated with too many features. It does have on-screen brightness level display, but requires the USB cable to be attached so the pc can send that data back to the monitor on the reverse usb stream. ConsMust have a DUAL LINK DVI CABLE as well as compatible graphics card to display native resolution of 2560 x 1600! This was not mentioned anywhere. Complete lack of internal scaling options or any control other than brightness. The power button is a non tactile feedback button, it doesn't click or move at all, it's more like a touch switch, you can merely brush your finger across the switch and it works. Could damage easily if you thought you needed to push the button in to work it.
Review:Once the Dual vs. Single link cable was figured out, the monitor works great so far. I have only had it a week, so not able to comment on longevity. For $750, you can't beat it.

Title: Max Resolution is 1280x800 with DisplayPort
Date: January 9, 2009
ProsGreat for use with workstations with Dual-Link DVI video cards. ConsAll video cards in the future will be DisplayPort. The max resolution when connected to a Dell E-Series laptop is 1280x800 due to the lack of a Dual-Link interface with the GPU.
Review:Choose a 24/27" 1920x1200 monitor on a budget and the future DisplayPort shift. Otherwise you will need the WFP3008 to obtain the 2560x1600 resolution when using DisplayPort.
If an active DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter is ever released you may be able to use these at 2560x1600 but at this moment that is not possible.

Pros- S-IPS - 8ms gray-to-gray response, no detectable ghosting Cons- buzzing at brightest and 2nd brightest setting - only control is for brightness, none for contrast, color temp - no on-screen display of brightness level - no color profiles - 2 stuck red subpixels - anti-glare coating visibly distracting - mild color shifting - some backlight bleeding - SD reader does not support SDHC - only one dual-link DVI-D input, no HDMI - no hardware scaler
Review:- most significant disadvantage is lack of color profiles - require colorimeter for accurate colors (about $250).

Title: More is better
Date: June 5, 2008
ProsNative resolution 2560x1600 is great! I'm able to display 4 times the data over my old 21" Crt monitor and have no problems reading text. No screen flicker at 60hz refresh rate. Light intensity is uniform over the complete screen. Colors are rich and full. ConsPrice is alittle high.
Review:The LCD is far more bright and clear as compaired to my CRT. I could notice screen flicker at 60hz on my old CRT but no such problem with this monitor. Bottom line, I will never go back to a crt monitor.
