Yes, I would recommend this product
I was able to get 400Mb sustained throughput using 14 146Gb drives in Raid 10 with VMware ESXi 4.1 to a single host. Hard to listen to any complaints considering the relatively low cost of this product. Even 100Mb sustained throughput to a single host should be considered fine at this price level.

What a disaster - VMWARE PERFORMANCE TERRIBLE

No, I do not recommend this product.
Bought this unit to use as a store for VMware. After a month of fighting with horrible performance, Dell has given up, has no experts, and says it's not supported.
Basically, the unit has 4 ethernet ports, but only 1 is supported with VMware thru MRU. You will max out at 110MB/sec with this unit.

Sorry you are having a problem with your Dell hardware. Our Dell engineering team is aware of this issue with VMware MRU and are in the process of qualifying the Round Robin method that will use all available paths.
