Response from Dell.caBy DonaldDforDell, Customer Reviews, May 17, 2013
Hello evoandroidevo,
Thank you for sharing your experience with your new backpack. I am sorry to hear it did not live up to your expectations. Please contact our Customer Service to check on the availability of a replacement.
I have had this laptop bag for 5 months. Overall it has all the space I need. Plenty of pockets for cell phone, flash drives, ethernet cables, and paperwork. I do computer repair. I am in and out of my office all day. Noticed today that at the seams the bag is tearing. Inspected the entire bag and this is happening on both sides of it. I will admit I am a heavy user and put a lot in the bag but never thought that I was straining it. Also the shoulder straps are somewhat awkward on my back. Overall I really liked the bag until it started tearing at the seams. My step son has an identical one and he uses it for school. His has no problems. If you are a person with heavy use I would not recommend this. I have emailed dell about my issues today and am awaiting a response. I noticed this bag shows new, but I can assure you this was being marketed last fall.
Pros:plenty of room
Cons:poor craftsmanship

Awkward straps straining shoulders
PostedMarch 20, 2013
No, I do not recommend this product.
This backpack has straps that are placed too wide apart and when carrying weight in the backpack, they strain the shoulders pulling them too far back. The back side of the back pack also feels too wide. In general, it looks a lot more comfortable than it is. The overall make is decent quality but they overlooked a small detail like this that ruins its usefulness. Maybe it would fit a broad shouldered guy better (I have petite shoulders as a girl) but even my brother said it was uncomfortable compared to the Targus laptop backpack he bought off Dell a couple months ago.
Wouldn't recommend this one.

EXCELLENT for my 7720 (Inspiron 17r SE)
PostedFebruary 11, 2013
Yes, I would recommend this product
Arrived today ( only took a week ) and its LOOKING GOOD. Fits the 7720 LIKE A GLOVE... half an inch free at the top, so its no problem leaving my Logitech trackball dongle plugged in.
I like the materials and workmanship - this bag is sewed together impressively well. I was relieved to discover that there is a good inch or so of padding at the BOTTOM of the laptop compartment.
Comfortable to wear, roomy but doesn't look like you are packed for a mountain trek. I'm giving this bag FIVE STARS
Pros:great fit for 7720, well-made, quality materials

Great for a 17 inch laptop
PostedJanuary 2, 2013
Yes, I would recommend this product
Got this for my new Insperion 17R. It does a great job with a big laptop and seems to be well made as well.
This bag is much sturdier than some of the other brands I have purchased. I am a Dell Registered Partner and have used all kinds of Dell products for the last 10yrs. I actually purchased this as a tool bag for when I am onsite but when I received it, it looked so nice I couldn't! Great pockets and the shoulder strap design keeps this bag in place even if slung over one shoulder. Quality nylon zippers and it's just plain comfortable. I highly recommend!
Pros:computer service, on the go office, Travel, laptop bag

Backpack problems
PostedNovember 8, 2012
No, I do not recommend this product.
I was very disappointed with the backpack. After normal use for 2 months, the backpack started ripping at one of the seems.
The dell warranty was only 30 days and they would not replace the backpack.
Fantastic travel bag, not too bulky like most bags but still lots of storage space for your laptop, accessories and not to mention the amount of room for clothing for a trip so over all I love this product.

I totally recommend this item. Its quality is the main point. Also the functionality of this backpack is not behind its quality. All those pockets and places are well distributed. Totally perfect.

Quality Laptop Bag
PostedAugust 2, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
When my old laptop backpack's zipper finally gave way I found this one at Dell.com and was hoping it would be as durable and functional as my previous bag. I was extremely happy to see how well it is made and how sharp it looks. The only "Con" I can find is that I wish it had a small zipper pocket on the lower front for quick access. Other than that it has tons of storage space and internal pockets. Well done Dell!
Has got more space to carry things along with laptop... Fits big screen laptops... Little expensive but worthy buy :-)

Purchased this backpack risking that the new 17" laptop would fit. It fits perfect! The best part is that it was purchased for my husband who travels and this is a perfect size and strength for his use.

AMAZING
PostedJuly 11, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
I was looking for a backpack that would be great for my XPS 17R. This one does everything and then some. My XPS fits there with no problem it has its own self-contained pocket for the laptop which is right against your back and with it on your back you cannot tell it is even there. There is a sunglasses pocket, but I don't use it for sunglasses that is where I put my mouse it is big enough for both a cellphone and a mouse. There is even a pocket for your charger to go on the front part of the backpack. There is room for school books or a change of clothes which is great for me because I am taking graduate classes on line and many times I am having to change clothes while I'm out sometimes.

This backpack makes my new Inspiron 17R laptop quite portable.
Pros: Nice fit for the 17R Feels good on your back Lots of useful compartments Cons: None really.
The only con to the whole deal is the weight of the 17R, but I wanted a 17 inch laptop and really won't have to haul it more than 10 minutes at a time.

Great Backpack
PostedMay 31, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
It is a very good backpack. The designated pocket for the laptop has a good amount of padding on both sides. The straps are very comfortable and with only the laptop in the pack it feels like there is nothing on your back. I was a little skeptical about this backpack when I saw the price, but after buying it I think it is well worth it.
